All the attention lately has been on the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette that emphasizes rose gold and pink and also on Too Faced Chocolate Palette that looks like a big candy bar. Appealing as those palettes are, I think IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Matte Palette is every bit as wonderful. And for over 40 gals, it may be even better!
While I am definitely a glitter girl, I have come to the realization that I should wear glitter on my nails and not (or not too often) on my eyes. Matte shadows are just more flattering to women of a certain age (OMG, am I in that category now?).
I discovered the Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette when I was shopping for IT Cosmetics CC cream.
My local Ulta store was out of what I thought was my shade of the IT Cosmetics CC cream, so I turned to the IT Cosmetics website, itcosmetics.com. It was offering 20% off to first time customers and free shipping. Yes! While I was exploring the site, I discovered the matte shadow palette and couldn’t resist the pretty shades.
In addition to the lovely colors, the shadows have anti-aging ingredients that are good for the delicate skin around the eyes: “with hydrating age reverse and prevent complex infused with peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, silk, anti-oxidants and drops of light technology”. Maybe that’s why it’s so comfortable to wear on my dry lids. It feels like silk! Also, I learned that the Naturally Pretty Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette was developed in conjunction with plastic surgeons to diffuse the look of lines and wrinkles around the eyes.
The palette has a wonderful range of 14 very wearable shades from lights to darks. I think this palette will work for both warm and cool-toned gals. The shades tend toward neutrals rather than brights, and there are flattering pinks, mauves, clay, and purple shades as well as beige/browns. It has a deep purple and a grey/black that make great liners used wet.
It also has a translucent pearl powder (that was so subtle it didn’t show up in photos), if you want to add a little bit of sheen to your shadows from time to time.
The shadows are smooth, buttery, and glide on. Occasionally, there’s a little fall out on the palette but not usually on my face. I apply it over eye primer, and it does not crease or budge for many hours. In fact, I’ve worn it for 11 hours today, and it still looks good. Here, (if I remember correctly) I’m wearing “love (inner corner), warmth (mid-section) and soulful (outer corner)” shadows. (BTW, I replaced my new glasses with a slightly different frame so hopefully that ridge on my nose will not be appearing for much longer, lol!).

Bonjour Allison, Great minds think alike!!!!! I too have been eyeing the UD Naked palette but was concerned about the rose gold shadows on my 50+ eyes, not to mention the price tag!!!! Last night I was shopping on the IT Cosmetics site (I love their Celebration Foundation), and I saw the palette and VOILA it had my name on it….. so in the cart it went!!!! I will give you my feedback once I receive it. I currently own several of the trio eye shadows as well as the no-tug gel liners and they are marvelous. Au revoir!!

I’ll have to swatch this next time I’m at my local Ulta as I really like the colors of your swatches. For my eyes, I like to mix shimmer with mattes and once in a while, I’ll add a bit of glitter liner.

Monica, this one is definitely worth a look when you’re at Ulta. It comes with a shimmer/pearl powder if you want to amp it up. It’s my favorite palette.
