It’s Pumpkin Everything Season: My Current Favorite Pumpkin Skincare Products

I know so many people of serious fans of pumpkin everything. Oh, that reminds me, I have to get to Trader Joe’s to see if they have their delicious pumpkin spice cake mix again this year – it was even better than my from scratch version!

And when it comes to skincare, pumpkin is having more than a moment. Every autumn, pumpkin based or pumpkin scented products return. What I like about my current faves is that they are all different.

The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter

Several months ago when The Body Shop was having one of their big sales, I bought a tub of Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter. Because I have so many other body butters, I saved this one for fall.

I noticed that The Body Shop has brought back Vanilla Pumpkin this year as well, though the artwork on the top of the tub has changed. It now is decorated with a Dia de los Muertos inspired skeleton design instead of the pumpkin and vanilla design on mine. The formula, however, is the same.

Formulated with community-trade Ghanian shea butter, natural oils, glycerin, and beeswax, this is a thick but not stiff, smooth, luxurious body butter that is rich and soothing for dry skin like mine. The moisturization is very long lasting.

The autumnal pumpkin scent coupled with Madagascar vanilla with hints of tonka bean, hazelnut and maple syrup smell cozy and comforting, reminiscent of a bakery, but not sweet or cloying. I like it a lot.

The plastic tub of The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter contains 200 ml/6.75 oz. and is priced at $21. Sold at The Body Shop and on its website as well as at Ulta Beauty. The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter is natural, vegetarian and cruelty-free. If you love the scent, it is also available in shower gel and in hand cream ($6).

Beauty Kitchen Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask

I’m currently using a new pumpkin mask that I adore. It was created by Heather Marianna of Beauty Kitchen, a TV show that shows you how to make beauty products in your own kitchen. Truth be told, I haven’t seen Beauty Kitchen on TV since I don’t watch much television. But I am very interested in natural and organic beauty products, so I was eager to try Beauty Kitchen’s Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask.

Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask definitely looks, feels and smells all natural and like something you could make in your kitchen. Rather than having an artificial pumpkin spice scent like some pumpkin skincare has, Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask smells vegetal and feels like real pumpkin that just came out of your food processor!

Pumpkin is a super food that contains over 100 beneficial nutrients. It’s rich in enzymes and antioxidants. Pumpkin enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids in the formula remove dead skin cells and rejuvenate dull or tired looking skin. Who doesn’t want that?

It’s lightweight on my skin.  In fact, it feels like I opened up a jar of pumpkin baby food (if there’s such a thing) and put it on my face. I know that sounds funny, but it’s extremely pleasant. I apply a thin coating to my cleansed skin and leave it on for 5-7 minutes. I love that this mask works quickly so I don’t have to wait long like with some masks! The mask gives my skin a tingling sensation that it at once warm and cool – odd, but it feels good! Though it has “Peel” in the name, it doesn’t dry down and need to be peeled off. For me, it’s completely comfortable to wear.

After 5 minutes or so, I wash it off with tepid water. My skin looks brightened, feels soft, smooth and rejuvenated. Frankly, my skin feels immediately transformed – it’s that good!

It’s good for all types of skin including mature skin or skin with acne. I use it at least once a week as a natural exfoliator. Because the product contains natural and organic ingredients, I feel like I should use it up while it’s still “fresh”, lol, just like real fruits and vegetables!

The jar contains 2.8 oz. and is priced at $22.50. My jar is plastic, though the website says it’s glass. Plastic is fine with me. Check out the Beauty Kitchen website where it’s sold. Beauty Kitchen’s Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free and does not contain parabens or phthalates.

Ingredients; Pumpkin Fruit Purée, Water, Glycerin, Vitamin E, Sunflower Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C, Organic Sugar Cane Extract, Organic Bilberry Fruit Extract, Organic Sugar Maple Extract, Organic Orange Peel Extract, Organic Lemon Peel Extract, Organic Cranberry Fruit Extract, Organic Neem Seed Oil, Organic Rosemary Leaf Extract, Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Cinnamon Bark Powder, Ginger Root Powder, Allspice Powder, Nutmeg Powder, Organic Alcohol.

Feel Renewed Pumpkin Walnut Cleanser

Speaking of exfoliation, another pumpkin favorite of mine is Feel Renewed Pumpkin Walnut Cleanser from Feel Beauty. I received this 1 ounce trial size pouch in an Ipsy bag a while back, and I fell in love with it for both the pumpkin spice scent and the creamy consistency that contains ground up walnut shells in the form of walnut powder for a gentle exfoliation. The pumpkin in the formula contains alpha hydroxy acid, zinc and antioxidants Vitamins A and C.

I only need a tiny bit of this creamy cleanser, so that’s why it has lasted soooooo long. With water, it lathers up and feels wonderful. It rinses clean but doesn’t leave my skin tight or stripped.

In fact, Pumpkin Walnut Cleanser leaves my skin soft and smooth. I use this cleanser once a week or so, but it can be used daily especially if you have oiler skin than I.

It is sold in plastic tubes in two sizes: a TSA-friendly 2 oz. tube for $18 or a larger 4 oz. tube for $28. Feel Renewed Pumpkin Walnut Cleanser is natural, vegan and cruelty-free. It’s sold on the Feel Beauty website, at Ulta Beauty, Sephora and Sally Beauty.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Olefin Sulfonate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Apple Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Polylactic Acid, Bamboo Stem Powder, Allantoin, Bromelain, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Papain, Walnut Shell Powder, Maltodextrin, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid.
