June “Make Waves” Ipsy Glam Bag Plus

The weeks are passing too quickly. Next week is the longest day of the year, and it’s all downhill after that, lol. I love summer so I wish things would slow down a bit.

A couple of days ago, I received my June Ipsy Bag Plus. The theme is a summery “Make Waves” And the makeup bag is so adorable! I will get a lot of use out of it.

So what did I get?

the skincare, makeup and makeup tools in my June 2020 Make Waves Ipsy Glam Bag Plus

Pur-lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing MilkI have a number of cleansers that I’m using now, so at first, I wasn’t so excited about this. But then I used it. It’s a wonderful, gentle, hydrating, gel-lotion in an easy to use flip-top tube. I like it a lot. Pur-lisse is such a terrific skincare brand started by a Chinese-American actress. She partners with the best skincare labs in the U.S., Korea and France and creates truly terrific skincare products. I love the Blue Lotus line. $36

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Luminizer Primer: I was excited to see this primer from Dr. Brandt. I like luminizing primers that give my skin a glow. And Dr. Brandt is a terrific and pricey skincare brand. I haven’t been wearing foundation all that much, but I will definitely give this a go soon. $38

Huda Beauty The Basic B Straight Edge Sponge Applicator: I have gotten away from using makeup sponges during the past year, and I have mostly returned to using slant top kabuki brushes. But I like a sponge with an edge like this one, and I prefer the black color of this sponge, so maybe I’ll give it a go next time I wear foundation. Huda Beauty is an excellent makeup brand. $17

Araceli Ojos Perfectos Liquid Eyeliner, shade Coffee: When I saw this liquid eyeliner in the box, I went oh no. I thought it was another black liquid eyeliner, and we got one of those either last month or the one before. But it is brown, a deep chocolate brown! Yay, I will give it a go! It’s a thin, felt tip that’s easy to use. I was not familiar with this brand, Araceli, but I found out that she is a Mexican-born vlogger and entrepreneur. $16

Laura Geller Central Park face palette open to show the mirror and shades of the makeup inside

Laura Geller Urban Garden “Central Park” Face Eye and Cheek Palette: This is one super cute travel palette. It has a handy mirror, and everything you need for a summer neutral face. Adorable and handy! And I love the coral blush! $14

The June “Make Waves” Glam Bag Plus has a value of $121, and I paid $25 plus tax. Though this was not one of the highest value bags I’ve gotten from Ipsy, it is still a good one with stuff I can and will use.

    1. ‘Darling’ is the perfect descriptor for this month’s MU bag!

  3. I just resubscribed to Ipsy bags. I think I signed up for the plus bag maybe. I got that LG palette too and I know I’ll use it a lot. It’s so convenient.

    1. That’s great that you resubscribed, Stacie. I have been so pleased with the Ipsy Plus bag. I thought I didn’t need all these full size products, but truth be told, I love it. I have been turned on to so many great products and brands, especially skincare.

I got the Haus Laboratories gloss, which I really wanted because I’ve wanted to try that brand. I also got the sunscreen. Good month, really.

    1. Have you used the Haus gloss yet, Gabrielle? I haven’t heard much of anything about Lady Gaga’s brand in quite a while, and I had expected it to make a splash. I love gloss so I would have liked to try it too. I don’t think I was given it as an option. Was it the Tula sunscreen gel that you got? I would have liked that too. It absolutely sounds like it was a good month for you. And that MU bag is so cute!

Have to say that the gloss was a letdown. It’s sticky and does not apply smoothly at all. I’m still glad I got it because at least this way I got to try it in a bag where I got a bunch of other good products and don’t feel like I wasted money. The Tula sunscreen gel is lovely. Light and wearable and the glow is not greasy-looking at all.

        1. Sorry to hear the Haus gloss was a letdown. But I agree that I’m never really that sad when something I wanted to try that I get in a subbed box is a disappointment – it’s the best way to try something. Do you like ABH glosses? just curious. Glad to hear that the Tula sunscreen gel is a keeper. If it were SPF 50, I would try it now, but since it’s 30 and I have a ton, I’ll wait a bit on that.

          1. Gabrielle says:

I haven’t tried ABH gloss, but I am mad about their liquid lipsticks. Pure Hollywood is my go-to nude.

          2. Oh wow, Pure Hollywood is a gorgeous shade. Sadly, I can’t wear a shade that light, but I love it anyway. You should try the ABH glosses sometime. I think they’re wonderful especially if you like an opaque gloss.

  5. This is one of the best Ipsy bags I’ve seen in a while. I’d use everything in it which is saying a lot!

    1. It definitely is saying a lot!!

    2. Gabrielle says:

Thanks! As soon as i don’t have to wear masks all the time and am once again in the market for gloss, I’ll make it ABH!

      1. I know what you mean, Gabrielle – I am wearing so much less lipstick these days! I’m trying to get myself to go back to wearing at least mascara and eyeliner more often. I miss makeup!!
