Just Spotted: New Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment

My little local CVS is jam-packed with limited edition displays for the holidays. I can’t believe how much great stuff there is. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but I noticed two new displays from Milani. The one that made me jump up and down is the new Milani Moisture Lock display.

It was up really high on the very top of a high shelf. Little ole’ me wasn’t able to really read what it was all about. So I just reached for one of the Moisture Locks tubes, and I bought it to take home with me to try. There were lots of different colors in the clear, heavy plastic that looks like glass, containers. Each one is infused with different oils. The oils that I saw were pomegranate, grapefruit and raspberry. I grabbed the red one that’s infused with pomegranate oil. The different colors are supposed to leave a wash of color on the lips, but my lips weren’t particularly red. Check out the photo of my lips at the bottom of the post.

I thought it would have a rollerball applicator, but instead it’s a wand with a huge doe-foot applicator at the end. The end of the doe-foot applicator seems to pick up some of the Moisture Lock and you pat that on your lower lip and then use the dry flat part of the applicator to drag it across your lip. Then purse your lips to get the stuff on your top lip. It’s a little odd. But it does job.

Like other Milani lipsticks, the Moisture Lock has a faint melon scent that fades within a minute or two.

The Moisture Lock isn’t sticky per se, but it does coat my lips and it doesn’t dry down. It’s very soothing. And very glossy! Perhaps with Moisture Lock, I could wear typically drying matte lipsticks, though Moisture Lock would change the finish from matte to glossy.

It stays on for a few hours, but it doesn’t make it through a meal.

In sum, it’s a hydrating relatively longish-wearing lip gloss/balm. I like it!

At CVS, Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment was priced at $8.49 for 0.10 oz. Made in the U.S. Cruelty-free. There is no information on it on the Milani website yet.

Have you seen Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment in your stores yet? I think it would be a great stocking stuffer. Pick one up for your makeup bag too. Cold weather will appear at some point!

Oh yes, there was another Milani LE that you may be interested in. A collection of pore refining products; Prime Shield, Prime Perfection, Prep Set + Go. Here’s the display!

ADDENDUM: The above post represented my initial impressions of new Milani Moisture Lock. I’ve been trying it for several weeks, and I have some updated thoughts. My lips are super dry, desert dry, probably nothing like your garden variety dry lips. I bought Moisture Lock with Pomegranate Oil that is infused with vitamin C to energize and revitalize. I bought it because it was RED and there was no information to guide me about which to choose for my lip condition. Unfortunately, it did nothing long-term to help heal my dry lips.

I don’t need energizing, I need replenishing the moisture that I don’t have. The one I should have chosen, according to an email I received today from Milani, is Nourishing Raspberry, infused with vitamins A & E to replenish moisture, or Coconut Oil to alleviate dryness and cracking. Lesson learned: don’t be an impulse buyer!  Here’s the chart I got today.

  17. If it’s really a lip treatment that would be good news. Ulta carries Milani too so that’s another place it could be. I’ll guarantee my CVS (3 nearby) don’t have these yet.

    1. Oh, how interesting, Marcia. Ulta near me doesn’t carry Milani and Walgreens doesn’t get that much of it. It’s CVS for me. Yes, it is a lip treatment/gloss. It’s very thick and juicy. It’s not as good or serious as Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask that’s $26

  18. I haven’t seen this yet!! I want to pick them up.
