Kaja Beauty Bento Eyeshadow Trio

I am always drawn to cute little things. And I’m even happier if the cute little thing is of high quality. Such is the case with Kaja Beauty Bento Eyeshadow Trio.

Several weeks ago, I saw this bite-size stacked shadow trio on another blog, and I had been lusting after it ever since. I finally caved and picked it up at Sephora in Boston last Thursday. Kaja is an innovative Korean brand that makes super cute makeup products.

Each little pan in the trio is about the size of a quarter. The easy to use and easy to travel with stack is about the size of a half dollar (do they still make half dollars?) an inch and a half wide, and an inch high. It has a mirror in the top.

I bought one of the four new Kaja Beauty Bento Bouncy Matte & Shimmer trios: 07 Glowing Guava. Each of the Matte & Shimmer Trios has two matte shadows and one shimmer. Glowing Guava, a peachy/pinky/mauvey set of shades.

Honestly, I am having a hard time describing the shade family, but Kaja calls them “mauvey pink tones”. To me, it seems to have both peach and cherry combined – great shades for this redhead. Here are the shade names:

  • Smoky Sepia

  • Frosty Frosé

The shadows are creamy, highly pigmented pressed powders. They are soooooo smoooooooth. There is no powder dust up at all. They are so easy to apply, I sometimes just use my fingers (though it’s nice to have a brush to blend the edges). In fact, Kaja recommends applying with fingers.

I almost always apply eyeshadow over eye primer, but with Kaja Beauty Bento Trio, if I forget to apply primer, no real harm done. The two matte shadows stick like glue on my dry lids, though the glittery bits in the shimmer shadow do benefit from primer or glitter glue to prevent wandering. But I don’t care if a few of the sparkles move about on my lid.

In addition to the 4 matte/shimmer trios, there are 4 stacks of all shimmer shades for those who love to sparkle. From what I’ve read, if you are going for the shimmer stacks, eye primer is a must to keep the shimmery bits in place.

Each Kaja Beauty Bento shadow trio is priced at $21 for 3 pans of almost 1 g each. Though this is a tad pricey, I love mine. Check them all out at Sephora.

  4. I’ve looked at them so many times on Sephora’s website but was afraid they’d be too sparkly. I love cream shadows too and Kaja appeals to me.

    1. Marcia, the original trios that are 3 shimmer shades would definitely be to sparkly. The 4 new trios all have 2 mattes and 1 shimmer. The shimmer is definitely shimmery, but I think it works well to give some sparkle to the center of the lid.

  5. Everything from this brand looks really fun! I like the color trio you chose. I’d chose that one too!

  6. I love that compact design! Super cute idea. I love the shades you shared, something I could see myself wearing.

These trios are so cute! I keep looking at them at Sephora and debating on which ones to pick up. So I get the more practical ones with shade I wear most often or do I go with something else since I’m less likely to have something similar already? Definitely not easy to decide!

    1. Tough choice! I would go with one of the 4 new trios with 2 mattes and 1 shimmer. Otherwise, I think it’s a little too much bling (I can’t believe I said that, lol)

Those are such lovely shades of pink!

  10. I have this too and it’s stunning! I want to buy the other shades too.
