Once the heat in my house goes back on in the fall, my skin protests. All of a sudden, it feels drier and itchy. Ugh.
Kiehl’s “Made for All” Gentle Body Wash came along at just the right time!
Its formula is both gentle and soothing, and it’s a pleasure to use. The two key ingredients are aloe vera and soap tree extract, a new to me ingredient. I’m sure you know aloe vera gel derived from the thick leaves of the aloe vera plant. It’s been used for centuries to hydrate and soothe skin. In fact, I’ve owned (and sadly killed) a number of aloe vera plants. They’re handy to have around to soothe burns or other skin irritations.
Soap tree extract contains saponin, a foaming ingredient, that gives Kiehl’s “Made for All” Gentle Body Wash a frothy, light foam that’s just right.
It cleans gently without stripping skin. It leaves my skin feeling comfortable instead of tight or itchy. In fact, it’s so gentle that it is recommended for use by the whole family, from age 3 and up. It has been pediatrician tested for skin tolerance in children. It’s dermatologist-tested and has been shown to be safe for all skin types.
It has a delicate, natural, refreshing scent that, to me, smells like aloe. I’d say it smells clean and green, but the scent is very light.
Kiehl’s “Made for All” Gentle Body Wash is the first product launched as part of Kiehl’s new sustainability platform – part of its brand mission: Kiehl’s Made Better – that includes its commitment to sustainability through product formulation, packaging, manufacturing and recycling, and community. The aloe vera is grown by small farmers in semi-rural Mexico, and the soap tree extract is harvested from trees in mountainous regions of Chile, both using sustainable farming methods. The packaging is made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials. So I feel good about using Kiehl’s Gentle Body Wash, not only the way it makes my skin feel, but for how the company crafts their products and acts as good stewards of the earth.
Although I primarily use Kiehl’s Gentle Body Wash in the shower, it can also be used on the face and as a shampoo.
As an all-family product, Kiehl’s “Made for All” Gentle Body Wash comes in a big plastic bottle that holds 500 ml/16.9 fl. oz. It’s priced at $30. Yes, they do! This body wash is truly gentle, and the delicate fresh scent is a nice change from my more highly fragranced options. I think you’d love it!

Interesting! I had no idea they have body wash too and it can also be used on hair and face. I still haven’t try anything from this brand but I have a sample of the cult favourite Midnight Recovery oil.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil Concentrate is my favorite oil, period! Yes, they have several body washes. This is a terrific all-family body wash: gentle and light aloe scent.
I ordered my hand wash in Aloe by mistake and have been pleasantly surprised that I like it. I think Kiehl’s is pretty wonderful so I would love to use this too.
I was actually thinking, Marcia, that you would like the Kiehl’s Gentle Body Wash because the aloe scent is so delicate.

Soap tree extract is definitely something I’ve never heard of before. A house around the corner had the most beautiful big aloe vera plant. Sadly, they removed it this spring…I imagine it died…we’ve lost several trees since we’ve been here, so I imagine something happened, but it was just so beautiful.

I haven’t heard of this product from Kiehls but I like the idea of using a single product for my hair, body, and face. I will try to squirrel away a sample next time I’m passing by a Kiehl’s store 🙂
The Kiehl’s Made for All Gentle Body Wash is brand new. I forgot to check out the pH, but since it’s both pediatrician and dermatologist tested, I’m thinking it must be good for skin. I hope you do get a sample.
