Kierin-NYC Fragrance Discovery Set: A New Indie Luxury CF Vegan Scent Brand

Over the past few years, I have become a fragrance fanatic. I used to have one signature scent, and I would wear it alone for several years. Then I would move on to the next signature scent.

Though I still have my very faves, I have a much bigger repertoire that I choose among on a regular basis. And I am always seeking out new scents to try.

A new luxury indie fragrance brand came my way a few weeks ago: Kierin-NYC. The brand has a decidedly young, Millennial, urban vibe. It is very modern, and the concept feels oh-so unique IMO. The scents are gender-neutral and individualistic. If you are looking to stand out from the crowd fragrance-wise, Kierin-NYC is a brand you need to check out.

Kierin-NYC eau de parfum scents are cruelty-free, vegan, non-toxic, and hypoallergenic. They are free of parabens, sulfate, formaldehyde, phthalates, and more. They are made from sustainable ingredients. The artistic, contemporary packaging is made from recycled materials.

The perfumer is Mathieu Nardin, an accomplished young perfumer who is a native of Grasse, France, the cradle of perfume. Read an interview with Nardin by The Perfume Society.

The Discovery Set is a great way to try out Kierin-NYC’s four signature scents that they call “stories” that create the mood or set the stage for each fragrance. In fact, you can read each of the four stories on the website.

The eye-catching Discovery Set in graphic black, white and red includes 4 white 2 ml spray vials. I was taken by it immediately on looks alone!

Here is how Kierin-NYC presents and describes the four scents:

  • Nitro Noir: An Intoxicating and Hypnotic Vibe. Premium Olfactive Harmony is Chypre Gourmand – Spicy. Key ingredients are Italian Bergamot, Pink Berries, Orris, and Patchouli.

Not surprisingly, Nitro Noir is my favorite. You know I love me those big spicy oriental scents. The fragrance starts out with an almost masculine vibe. To me, it has a top note that smells like evergreen. But the fragrance really evolves as it dries down and the gourmand notes become more apparent. It’s a perfect scent for night, for going out, for autumn and winter. For me, it’s a winner!

In addition to the Discovery Set priced at $18, the four fragrances come in full size bottles that you can see above, each containing 1.7 fl. oz./50 ml and priced at $78.

Visit the Kierin-NYC website to find out more about the brand, its mission and the scents. Kierin-NYC can also be purchased on the Luxury Beauty section of Amazon.

I think the Discovery Set would be a great stocking stuffer for scent lovers, and the fact that the fragrances are cruelty-free and vegan make it even more appealing. Do any of the Kierin-NYC  fragrances appeal to you?

  1. I received Sunday Bruch, and really like it a lot! I love their packaging, and the overall vibe of their brand!

    1. I think the concept is so smart. It seems like today’s younger New Yorkers in a bottle – or 4 bottles. I’m glad that you’re liking Sunday Brunch!

  2. Ehmkay Nails says:

I am so boring with scents. I wear the same three. I need to branch out and try these!

  3. Nitro Noir and Santal Sky sound like they might be worth a sniff. Apparently I want all the woods and spice.
Have you tried anything from Phlur? They’ve got a similar millennial vibe going on with the sleek white and the scent stories/moods. Also an emphasis on sustainability and consumer-friendly pricing. I’ve been a fan of their scents Hepcat and Moab since they launched (though I’ve waffled quite a few times over whether to get a full bottle of either or just keep getting sample sets…) and I noticed the brand recently entered Sephora.

    1. I’m digging Nitro Noir and I have to keep trying with Santal Sky to see if it will give me some of the sandalwood note on my weird skin. I’m with you about the woods and spice, for sure. I haven’t tried Phlur yet. I keep hoping they’ll discover my blog and send me something to try. Phlur sounds so promising. I’ll check out the description of Moab and Hepcat (so funny!) I’ve been going crazy this fall buying fragrances: 3 sample vials of Royal Earth from The Harmonist, a mini-bottle of vintage Organza Indecence that has sadly been discontinued, and a Custom Box from Sylvaine Delacourte with 2 of her scents that are different from my usual spicy preference, Florentine and Lilyang – You should try at least one of the Sylvaine Delacourte Discovery Sets – they’re $4 delivered for 4 vials, basically free!

  4. Santal Sky and Sunday Brunch sound good to me!

  5. Kathryne says:
