To be honest, I hardly know who Kylie Jenner is. She’s part of the Kardashian clan, right? I couldn’t pick her out of a line up 😉 But I bought a Kylie Kyliner, and I’m a fan.

Kylie Kyliner, Grey Shimmer
When I was in Ulta to pick up something during the 21 Days of Beauty (the first time I was in the actual store in months), I was amazed by all the brands that Ulta now carries. So I couldn’t help but look around at everything!
Since I’m always on an endless quest for the right shade of grey eyeliner, I was on the lookout among brands both old and new. It’s interesting that grey just is so rare in eyeliner shades. There’s always black, brown, navy blue, and purple. Sometimes gold or copper, and occasionally green. Seldom grey.
But the Kylie makeup line had shade 013, Grey Shimmer in a gel eyeliner pencil. I tried the tester on the back of my hand, and I was sold. Like most gels, the eyeliner is soft and applies easily. It’s long lasting. The grey is definitely grey, not almost black.
Although it’s called a shimmer, the shimmer is subtle. When I swatched it, I could see the shimmer.
But on my eyes, the shimmer is very, very subtle. For me, it’s a terrific everyday eyeliner. Yay!

Kylie Kyliner Shades and Finishes
I just checked out the Kylie Cosmetics website to look at the Kyliner shades. It turns out the brand has both shimmers and matte eyeliner pencils. In fact, they also have a Matte Grey on the website, but it wasn’t at my local Ulta store. Oh well. Luckily, I am happy with Grey Shimmer.
The Matte shades are:
- Blue: more of a cobalt blue
- Black
- Nude: looks like a pink-nude that would be great on the water line
- Green: looks like a cross between forest and olive green
- Plum
- Brown: medium brown
- Dark Brown
- Grey.
The Shimmer shades are:
- Brown
- Blue: looks more like navy on the website
- Gold
- Grey
- Purple: looks like a greyed purple
- Black
- Bronze.
I must say that A LOT of the shades are very, very appealing!

The website says that the Kyliners are:
- waterproof
- give 12 hours of wear on the waterline!
- smudge resistant
- transfer-free.
I can attest that my Grey Shimmer Kyliner is definitely smudge resistant and transfer-free. I haven’t tried it on my waterline, but it is extremely long-wearing on my eyelids and under my eyes.

If you’re looking for an easy to apply gel eyeliner that doesn’t budge, check these out. I think I like the Kylie eyeliner pencil even more than the Victoria Beckham gel eyeliners that I also love because they’re transfer-proof, super long-lasting and they’re easier to buy in the U.S.!
Gray seems like it would be popular yet it’s hard to find. I think my last gray was from Pixie. This one looks great that. I hope it sharpens well.
You would think that grey would be popular since it’s much less harsh than black. But then most brands target young women for whom black is just fine, I guess.
