A week or so ago, I wrote about the stunning La Rose Highlighter and the already sold out Crystal L’absolu Lipsticks here. Now, I’d like to tell you about this year’s La Vie Est Belle eau de parfum.
La Vie Est Belle, in English means “life is beautiful” This modern, very feminine fragrance was created by Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo and introduced in 2012. And it has been a hit right from the beginning.
The joyous scent is a sweet/gourmand combination of fruits and flowers and is perfect for any season, daytime or evening wear.
- Top notes: Black Currant and Pear
- Middle notes: Iris, Jasmine and Orange Blossom
- Base notes: Praline, Vanilla, Patchouli, and Tonka Bean.
A complex scent, the main accords (combination of notes like a musical chord) are:
- sweet
- vanilla
- fruity
- patchouli
- woody
- powdery
- white floral
- lactonic/milky
- earthy
- iris.
The fragrance is long-lasting and makes its delightful presence known without shouting.
For the holiday, Lancôme has dressed La Vie Est Belle in an eye-catching sparkly box and bottle. Honestly, the bottle is just the thing to display on your dresser or vanity. So intensely pretty!
The holiday spray bottle of eau de parfum contains 1.7 fl. oz./50 ml, and it also comes in a larger 3.4 fl. oz./100 ml size. I would like to win because I like to try new scents. During normal time I would be on the hunt for the perfect winter perfume. With the virus I don’t go out much and you really can’t smell the scent with a mask on.
I’m the same way, Sharon. I only go out to a store when it is a necessity. One day months ago, I was in a small store that sold handmade soaps and fragrances, and I was so frustrated because not only would it not be right to hold it up to my nose and I couldn’t smell it very well through a mask anyway. Some day will look back on this and be amazed. At any rate, I think La Vie Est Belle definitely works as a winter scent because of the gourmand and warm aspects of fragrance. On a different topic, I didn’t know that you had a son till I got your email this weekend. That’s so wonderful that your family is nearby, especially with everything that’s been going on this year!

I use to be all about the vanilla scents, now I’ve been loving the fruity scents especially pear. Love that La Vie eat Belle has a bit of both. And like your review youtuber Jeremy Fragrance said it was a good perfume with good performance as well.

I am a huge fan of La Vie Est Belle. I discovered it in 2013 and it has been on my favorites list ever since. I find that it is a wonderful scent for pretty much any season. Since it does cost a good chunk of change, I use it sparingly. Winning this would mean that I could gift this to my 23 year old daughter who has grown up enough to want more sophisticated scents than she can get at the discount stores. I am so glad that she even wants to “smell” like her mom.
