Lancôme Juicy Tubes Lip Glosses

PR Sample, Affiliate Links

Gee, I wish I knew the backstory on the Lancôme Juicy Tubes Lip Glosses! The advertising for the glosses says: “You asked, Lancôme listened. The original and iconic Juicy Tubes lip gloss is back!”

It sounds like Lancôme must have either changed the formula or the packaging for their Juicy Tube Lip Glosses, and then changed it back after protests from consumers. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, ammirite?

At any rate, I am late to the party with this cult classic. With my dry lips, how can it be that I missed these lovely glosses?

Juicy Tubes come in plastic, squeezable tubes with slant tips. Just squeeze and swipe across your lips. Easy peasy.

The formula fits its name to a T: it’s juicy! The cushiony, hydrating formula gives my lips a lovely shine that helps lips look and feel fuller. It’s a thick formula that is sticky, but also not sticky. From my experience, it’s not a hair magnet. The stickiness also dissipates over time.

The hydration lasts for about 4 hours which is not bad for a gloss. And because of the squeeze tube, reapplication is a cinch. You don’t need a mirror. Just squeeze, swipe and go!

The Lancôme Juicy Tube Lip Glosses come in 20 shades (all 20 on the Lancôme website) ranging from pale pink and neutrals to reds and browns. The glosses are translucent and some are sheer so they are great to wear alone for everyday or on top of other lipstick for additional hydration, shine and dimensionality.

I received 5 of the shades to try out, and I am definitely having fun with them. Some of them are sparkly with gold glitter, and others are creamy, pure color. They do have a slight flavor, a caramel, that’s yummy but disappears after about 30 seconds.

My only complaint is that it is hard (for me, that is) to figure out the name of the shade. It is printed on the back of the tube in tiny letters at the top. For young eyes, I’m sure it’s no problem. But for me, what are the names of the two reddish ones? Anyone?

Let’s take a look at the swatches:

  • 02 Spring Fling, creamy pale pink
  • 03 Dreamsicle, creamy pale purply-pink
  • 05 Marshmallow Electro, sparkle, cool-toned light pink
  • 07 Magic Spell, super sparkly, mauve
  • 16 Caramel Gospel, super sparkly, red-brown

Not surprisingly, Magic Spell and Caramel Gospel are my favorites, the ones I wear most often. But I am very happy to have them all especially now that winter is upon us. They have become my everyday go-to solution for dry lips. But I also love how they look on top of lipstick, truly a lacquered look!

Lancôme Juicy Tubes are widely available: on the Lancôme website, at Ulta, Sephora, Macys, Nordstrom, Saks, other department stores and more. The MSRP for Juicy Tubes is $20 for 0.5 fl.oz./15 ml. Right now, they are $17 each at Nordstrom with free shipping because of their 15% off beauty.

There’s also a Juicy Tubes Mini Set that consists of a cute rose gold backpack with five 7 ml mini tubes for $25:

– Marshmallow Electro
– Framboise Pop
– Spring Fling
– Hallucination
– Birthday Confetti.

I think the Mini Set would make an adorable small gift or stocking stuffer, and the full size Juicy Tubes are excellent stocking stuffers.
