Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Mini Update

Last November during the Sephora pre-holiday sale event, I picked up the Laneige Good Night Set containing travel size versions of Laneige Water Sleeping Mask and Lip Sleeping Mask. At the time, I thought, for me, that the Water Sleeping Mask was the star, but I’ve changed my mind.

I am not going to do a complete review of the Lip Sleeping Mask because I did a pretty good job back in late November going through all the details (see my original review of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask). But suffice it to say, I’ve become a big fan of the Lip Sleeping Mask as I’ve continued to use it.

For one thing, as the temperatures warmed up last spring, the consistency of the Lip Sleeping Mask became less stiff. I rechecked the ingredient list, and it contains lots of different moisturizers and waxes (in addition to antioxidants in fruit extracts). It makes sense to me that the waxes would be easier to spread as they got warmer. In the winter, my house is an ice box, so no wonder I felt that it was “stiff”. In fact, Lip Sleeping Mask is a breeze to spread (I use a plastic applicator), and it feels so soothing and protective going on. I mostly put it on before bed, and it does last through the night. I also put a teeny tiny bit on my lips before wearing a matte lipstick as a protective cushion.

I am just about finished with the travel size that I got in November. I had put it away till spring, and then I think I took it with me to Holland. Since I rediscovered it in April, I’ve been using it continuously, and I still have a little bit left. Fortunately, I was sent a full size jar that comes with its own applicator and a cute plastic envelope to protect it. I know the new full size jar will see me through the winter. From now on during the cold weather, I’ll keep it in a warmish spot, at least in a drawer.

The full size jar 0.70 oz./20 g of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is priced at $20. As I mentioned, it is very long lasting.

  1. I am so tempted to get this and it’s definitely in my list to buy since the temperature has cold down considerably.

    1. When I initially tried the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask last November, I was so on the fence about it, but I have really changed my mind about it over the past 6 months. I really like it, have been using it every night for 6 months, and I think you get a lot for $20. It is definitely worth being on your to buy list!

  2. This is something I need to pick up for winter. My lips get so dry and this mask is the one product that really helped make them normal again! It’s so good!

    1. I’m so glad to hear that you’re a fan of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask too!

  3. I forgot if you said it had a fragrance so you know I have to ask. The price on this is pretty good. All of a sudden my lips started peeling (though they healed now) so having this on hand might be good.

    1. Oh, Marcia, I forgot to address the fragrance because it is almost imperceptible. It is a faint strawberry scent, but in my jar that’s been open for a long time, you can’t smell it at all. When I apply even the balm from the new jar, it has no real scent on the lips. It’s a large jar for $20. Laneige is one of my 3 faves along with Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm and Hanalei

  4. This sounds absolutely wonderful. I am going to have to try to get a sample to try.

    1. I think you’d like it. It’s very similar to the By Terry lip balm

  5. I bought a jar at the last Sephora sale, and as much as I love the texture and the smell, I think it’s nice but it’s not the most nourishing balm. We’ll see how it works in the winter but I expect that it won’t be enough when my lips are really badly chapped!

    1. I’ll be curious to see if it’s enough for me this winter too. My go-to in the winter is Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm with medical grade lanolin, but I will give this a chance. It’s still perfect for now even though our temps are down into the 50s at night.

  6. I’ve always wanted to try this, but just never have. I;m so glad to hear it lives up to the hype.

    1. I really like it. I’ll see how well it works in the dead of winter, but for April through the present, it’s been great.
