Just in time for a little Valentine’s Day treat, LATHER has introduced a limited edition trio of 100% natural Tinted Lip Balms.
The three shades are perfect for Vday or any day actually:
- Pink Peony: shimmery pale pink
- Cinnabar Silk: red with rusty/brown undertones and a satin finish
- Plush Plum: plummy violet with a hint of shimmer.
The shades are subtle and give that My Lips But Better look. The Pink Peony gives a very light flush of color and sparkle, while Cinnabar Silk and Plush Plum give the lips more color while still looking very natural. Cinnabar Silk was just about made for my “rusty” coloring. I love it 😛
When it comes to what I wear on my lips, I think about the ingredients more often than I do for any other makeup product since I know I end up ingesting a fair amount of it. LATHER’s Tinted Lip Balms contain no:
- parabens
- petroleum-derived ingredient
- artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners
- carmine, a red colorant made from insects
- synthetic fragrances or colors.
What the Lip Balms do contain are good-for-you ingredients:
- organic beeswax
- botanical oils, butters and extracts.
The lip balms contain organic plant oils including argan, sunflower and coconut combined with organic cocoa butter and beeswax to moisturize, soothe, soften and protect lips. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? And the color comes from mineral pigments rather than insects. Nice.
Also, LATHER products are cruelty-free.
LATHER Tinted Lip Balms have a slight minty scent when first applied. I was a little concerned because I’m one of those rare birds whose sensitive lips can’t handle peppermint oil, but I have no problem at all wearing these soothing lip balms. So happy!
LATHER Tinted Lip Balms are 0.15 oz and the price is $7.50. They are sold on the LATHER website and, I think, at LATHER stores located in Pasadena CA, Scottsdale AZ, Atlanta GA, and Falls Church VA.
Right now, LATHER is hosting a GIVEAWAY of the Tinted Lip Balm Trio on Instagram. A lucky winner will win the trio of balms for herself and for a friend in honor of Valentine’s Day. So head on over to IG and enter! You must be 18+. The contest ends on February 13, 2015.
This was my first experience with LATHER all natural body and skincare products, and it was a happy one. I think these little lip balms would make a super cute and soothing Valentine’s gift for a friend, teacher, daughter, whomever! Have you tried LATHER yet?
Oh that pink and plum!!! Those are nice. You are right about the Cinnabar. It was made for you but the other colors would be pretty on you as well.
Just put some more on, so soothing. I love all the shades!
I love the color of Plush Plum! Thanks for the tip about the mint – my lips don’t usually like peppermint oil on them either. 🙂

Somehow the mint doesn’t seem to irritate my lips with these balms probably because they didn’t overdo it. Plush Plum is lovely, actually all 3 MLBB shades are so pretty!
I’m not much into lip balms but I really do thank you for the introduction to this brand! I love hearing about new beauty products!

As long as I don’t wear them too often, I am OK. It is less irritating than most other brands with peppermint oil. Boo hoo, I wish I could get over this irritation/allergy coz I adore these shades too!
This brand has been coming out with great products in the past few months. I’ve seen lots of blogger gals talk about them but this is the first time I’ve seen anyone talk about their balms. LOVE these shades!

I love how there are more and more natural products on the market .. I’ve been trying to go more with natural makeup (esp lip products), but keep getting pulled into all the great drugstore offerings ;-P

I agree, Monica. I always plan to stick with the natural products on my lips, but then I fall in love with the drugstore lippies too! In fact, I’ve gotta review the new matte collection from Jordana that I adore!
Oooh, these balms look amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of the brand, too. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for these. <3 Thanks for sharing.

LATHER was new to me, too, Brigette. It’s a spa, hotel brand that has stores in a few cities throughout the US and they sell on the website, lather.com. I love to use natural products on my lips when possible, and these little balms are so pretty! Thanks so much for your comment

I iwas waiting on someone to do a review on these. I’m looking to find another lip balm that doesn’t dry out my lips to quick.

Melody, these lip balms do have peppermint oil in them. I am sensitive to peppermint oil, but I don’t have as big a problem with these as I do with other lip balms or liquid lipsticks that use that ingredient. However, if you have an issue with peppermint oil drying out your lips, you may want to pass on these. Otherwise, they are very creamy-feeling and the shades are lovely and they’re natural. I just wish all lip balms would eliminate peppermint oil completely, lol!
Those look great!
They are very pretty shades!
I’ve seen these posted on a few blogs & they look awesome. I’m a sucker for new & interesting lip balms!
Then you might very well like these 100% natural tinted lip balms from LATHER! The shades are so pretty 🙂

I agree! The colors are so pretty with this trio
All three are very pretty and beautifully subtle. I am concerned about the ingredients that I put on my lips as well (despite the fact that I do use some lipsticks that do contain chemicals). These look healthy and beautiful– what more could you ask for?! Lovely review, as always! <3
