Lindi Skin Care for Compromised, Stressed or Very Dry Skin

In 2003, Lindi Skin was launched to address the unique skincare needs of people undergoing cancer treatment. The founder and CEO and a cancer survivor herself, Lindy Snider, started the business and created the skincare line to help friends and family members who were going through radiation or chemotherapy. As a result of the cancer treatment, their skin developed rashes, burns or became extremely dry. Prior to Lindi Skin, they were unable to find effective products to help their skin feel and look better. Check out this short vimeo to learn more.

Since its introduction, Lindi Skin has provided gentle, safe, clinically-proven skincare products to anyone – men as well as women – with compromised or stressed skin. The healing and protective qualities of each product in the line have been found to be restorative even after treatment has ended. In addition, Lindi Skin is perfect for those of us who have dry, irritated, cracked, older,  wind or sun stressed, or sensitive skin.

Because Lindi Skin was created for people whose immune systems were compromised, the products were intentionally designed with effective preservatives in order to prevent bacterial and microbial growth that could otherwise sicken those whom the products were meant to help. The products are:

  • clinically-proven
  • dermatologist tested
  • allergy tested
  • non-irritating
  • developed in conjunction with oncologists and dermatologists.

The complete Lindi Skin product line is made up of 12 face and body skincare products that range in price from $10-40. There’s a $30 starter kit containing product samples plus a $5 coupon, and Lindi Skin sells gift certificates, too.

Lindi Skin Products

skincare for people with stressed skin or undergoing radiation or chemotherapy

A couple of months ago, I received several products from Lindi Skin to try out and I’ve been using them regularly:

  • Face Wash, 120 ml/4 fl. oz., $22
  • Lip Balm, 7 ml/0.25 fl. oz., $10
  • Eye Hydrator, 15 ml/0.5 fl. oz. $30
  • Citrus Face Serum, 30 ml/1 fl. oz., $40

Each product is very nicely packaged in either a plastic or glass container, and they each arrived in an outer box sporting the shield, the Lindi logo, that I think is a terrific symbol as it communicates shielding and protecting skin.

skincare products for people with stressed skin or undergoing radiation or chemotherapy

The products Lip Balm and Eye Hydrator appear to me to be fragrance-free. The Citrus Face Serum has a faint citrusy-herbal scent. The Face Wash has an odd, non-scent or herbalish scent.

A number of the products contain “cones”, e.g. Cyclomethicone and Dimethicone. If you are sensitive to those ingredients, be sure to read the product ingredient list before purchase.

Lip Balm and Eye Hydrator

My favorites are the Lip Balm and Eye Hydrator.

  • The Lip Balm comes in a small pot and you apply it with a finger, not my favorite way to apply lip balm, but I like the balm so much, I’ve gotten beyond it. This stuff really works to soften my dry lips. I try to wear it all the time.
  • I love, love, love the Eye Hydrator. I have mentioned previously that I have blepharitis and dry eye so my eyelids are red and sometimes inflamed and tears from my dry eyes make the skin on the inner side of my eye sockets irritated, dry and flaky. Lindi Eye Hydrator is a thick, orange gel that is the most soothing product I have ever used on my irritated eye skin. In fact, I used up the first jar, and I bought another one last week. I cannot be without this stuff! If you have irritated eyes, you must try this product!

eye gel for stressed skin

Lip Balm Ingredients: Astaxanthin Extract, Petrolatum, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Ozokerite, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Myristyl Myristate, EthylHexyl Palmitate, Beeswax, Stearyl Alcohol, Benzophenone 3, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Flavor: Buttery Vanilla, Phenoxyethanol (Plant Derivative), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)

Eye Hydrator Ingredients: Astaxanthin Extract, Cyclomethicone and Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Isopropyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone Dipeptide 2, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide, Arginine, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Astaxanthin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Calluna Vulgaris (Heather) Extract, Euphrasia Officinalis (Eyebright) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Leaf Extract (Chamomile), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Phenoxyethanol (Plant Derivative), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate

Citrus Face Serum

I also like the Lindi Citrus Face Serum (they have a lavender version too) that includes a proprietary, LSA Complex, made up of botanicals, antioxidants and vitamins. I use the serum when my skin is feeling irritated from other skincare products or from sun or windburn. Often, I use it as a facial primer because it contains “cones”, cyclomethicone and dimethicone. For me, the slip is just fabulous! Definitely a terrific primer for my dry skin.

Ingredients: Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Astaxanthin, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Ceramide 2, Tribehenin, PEG-10 Rapeseed Sterol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Retinyl Palmitate, Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract, Echinacea Purpurea Extract, Algae Extract, Hydroxydecyl Ubiquinone, Thioctic Acid, Bisabolol, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Tocotrienols, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Myrtillus Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Crocus Sativus Flower Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Extract, Pinus Strobus Bark Extract, Portulaca Oleracea (Purslane) Extract, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract, Rhubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Betula Alba Bark Extract, Parfum (Fragrance), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Leaf Extract

Face Wash

The Face Wash is a clear, medium weight liqui-gel that comes in a clear plastic pump bottle and is formulated to achieve the skin’s optimal pH balance. Unfortunately, it is my least favorite of the products I tried out because I don’t really like the scent and because it is soap-free (which is fine) but non-foaming. I prefer my cleanser to either foam or to be creamy. Nevertheless, when my skin is feeling stressed or particularly dry, I reach for this face wash because it is absolutely gentle.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Disodium PEG-12 Dimethicone Sulfosuccinate, Coco Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Maltooligosyl Glucoside/Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Glucose Oxidase, Lactoperoxidase, Glucose, Xanthan Gum, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid

Shopping for Lindi Skin

The rest of the product line includes face moisturizer, body wash, soothing balm for hands and feet, body lotion, skin cooler roller, and skin cooler pad. Lindi Skin products can be purchased on the Lindi Skin website, on Amazon, as well as at a variety of stores including some CVS stores and medical centers. On the website, you can put in your zip code and see where it’s sold near you. I discovered it is sold at several CVS stores and in the gift shop of the suburban Massachusetts General Hospital center not far from where I live.

In order to get the word out, Lindi Skin is providing a 25% off discount with the code: BLOG25 that includes free shipping to readers of my blog. Although I had been planning to buy the Eye Hydrator at CVS, I decided to take advantage of the discount code and free shipping, so I purchased it on the Lindi Skin website and it arrived within a few days. Easy peasy!

If you have friends or relatives who are having skin problems or skin discomfort in response to radiation or chemotherapy, please let them know about Lindi Skin. And if you have stressed, dry or sensitive skin yourself, I encourage you to check out these gentle, quality skincare products too.

  1. Laura says:

If only the products did not contain all those cones I would so try this. I have autoimmune disorders and lately my skin has been a mess with hives and random rashes.

    1. It is somewhat surprising that the “cones” are so prevalent in the products, but they must have some therapeutic value, I’m assuming, for the majority. I’m sorry, Laura, to hear about your hives and rashes. Could they be related to spring allergies to pollen etc? Have you tried using Aveeno’s products for hives/rashes?

      1. Laura says:

I know many love the smoothness that cones provide. I would too if I did not break out almost instantly. The hive/rash problem started a few years ago. I take benadryl allergy every PM. I mostly just have this problem with my face & neck. Weird that it does not affect my arms/legs as much & this can happen in the middle of Winter as well.

        1. What a drag on both counts, Laura! How unusual that it’s just face and neck. Have you seen a dermatologist about it?

          1. Laura says:

No just my internist. He put me on prednisone for almost a month and told me to carry an epi pen. My right eye had swollen shut and left side of my neck was huge! Because I have hashimoto and hyperparathyroidism it contributes to me having these funky rashes and low immunity to allergens etc. The new to me Integrative doctor I found has made a promise to help me feel/look better. *fingers crossed* Tomorrow I go for preparation of a Sestamibi scan and a Single Proton Emission Computerized Tomography on Wed. After those tests I may be able to have the surgery that I have read is so life changing for those who have went through it. 🙂

          2. Oh, Laura, I am so sorry that you are suffering through these allergies that are way beyond anything I have heard of previously. For someone who must not feel well much of the time, you are so cheerful. I am going to look up “Sestamibi scan” and the tomography to see what they are. I will be thinking about you tomorrow, and I hope the testing goes well. Please let me know what happens. Take care and good luck xoxo

  2. Sounds like a very nice line!

    1. Love it, and I think it would really be a boon to those with radiation skin burns.

  3. I actually don’t mind the cones in skin care, since I use enough products to wash them off in the evening. The eye cream looks really nice!

    1. I have no trouble with ‘cones’ either. In fact, I seek them out. The eye gel is fabulous for my very dry eyes.

  4. Wonderful skin care line. I have a friend who is going though breast cancer. She is finished with chemo and needs to go through radiation .. I’ll keep this skin care in mind if she mentions to me that she’s having any problems.

  5. This line sounds amazing! I’ve been having issues with my eye lids being dry and irritated lately! My lips too! I need to get my hands on the lip balm and eye hydration gel!!

    1. The Eye Hydrator is so soothing, Maria-Isabel! I’m on my second jar. And I love the lip balm, too. If you do try them, hope you like ’em as much as I do

  6. That lip balm sounds like something for me, but I would probably skip the face wash, because I prefer facial cleansers that foam 😀

  9. I am curious if this would cause issues with my sensitive skin. I need more moisture in the winter than I do now but so much stuff just breaks me out even more.
Heather recently posted…Maybelline Blushed Nudes Vs Urban Decay Naked 3My Profile

    1. I don’t know what to say, Heather. It was designed for those with sensitive and compromised skin, particularly those with radiation burns. However, if you can’t use products with ‘cones’, then it definitely wouldn’t be for you. I have sensitive skin and the products are great for me, but I have a different type of sensitivity than yours.

  10. I need the eye hydrator. My eye skin is just permanently dry, no matter how often I moisturize!

  20. I’m totally loving the Eye Hydrator and Facial Serum. I have so many other products to test but I don’t want to stop using this one.
