L’Occibox Spring 2015 from L’Occitane

On Friday, I finally succumbed. I drove out to the mall and stopped in at L’Occitane to pick up the Spring 2015 L’Occibox. It’s been a while since I purchased anything from L’Occitane, and the $20 L’Occibox in the pretty cherry blossom decorated hat box was too good to pass up.

I read reviews of the L’Occibox on a couple of blogs, and I do admit that it was the packaging that really got me. I didn’t even notice what was in the box. I love the cherry blossom motif on just about anything. Plus I do love the quality of L’Occitane’s products.

When I asked for the L’Occibox in the store, I admit that I was a little surprised when I saw how small the hat box is in person. In fact, it would be a hat box for a doll, lol.

But I drove all the way to the mall (this mall isn’t close to where I live) and the young woman in the store remembered that I had called to inquire about the box, so I felt that I should go through with it. I think ipsy has spoiled me, to some extent, for other “boxes” with its $10 price point that includes 4-5 products including a couple of full-sized products. No matter, what’s done is done.

The saleswoman put my little hat box in a big L’Occitane flowered bag with lots of raspberry tissue paper. You’d have thought that I purchased a major haul! But it looked like a lovely gift to myself.

I opened it when I got home, and in addition to the goodies, there is a coupon for a free shea butter soap with a $25 purchase.

So what’s in the box?

face, hand and body skincare products, product samples

At first, I thought the Champagne Bears were some sort of bath oil, but I realized that they were gummy bears before putting them into the bath 😉 😳  Initially, I thought WTF?, but then I tried them. They actually taste like champagne! I make quick work of them, and they’re all gone. Yum.

I’ve used both hand creams – seems odd to me that there are two hand creams in this box – but they’re both terrific. I’m eager to use the Bonne Mere soap once I use up the soap that’s in my shower now that I brought back from Portugal. The Jasmin Bergamote fragrance smells divine, but it’s not my type of scent so I’ll pass that on to someone who’ll appreciate it. And of course, I’ll use the serum samples.

The two hand creams and the soap add up to $17, so that means the gummy bears, the fragrances and the serum samples are worth $3 in total, probably about right.

All in all, I’m pleased with the Spring L’Occibox. The hand creams are stellar, and I’m eager to use the soap. French soap is my favorite!

Not sure whether the Spring L’Occibox hat box is still available now or whether it ended on Mother’s Day. The website shows the new Summer Beauty Basket, $38, that includes:

– Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist 3.3 fl.oz
– Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette 0.1 fl.oz
– Pivoine Flora Hand Cream 0.35 .oz
– Almond Shower Oil 1.18 fl.oz
– Bonne Mere Soap – Lavender 3.5 .oz
– Lavender Foaming Bath 3.4 fl.oz

Ooh, I’d love the Almond Shower Oil and the Lavender Foaming Bath!

Did you pick up the Spring L’Occibox? What did you think?

    1. I haven’t tried the glosses from L’Occitane yet, Kirstina. I started out several years ago with a shower gel that I originally tried in a hotel. Now they discontinued that scent, but there’s always something appealing from L’Occi

  10. I didn’t even know these existed! (bad beauty blogger over here). I love L’Occitane products, but haven’t actually used too many. I think I’d rather spend my money on one full size item instead of a bunch of sample sizes. Their hand cream is really great though!

  21. I was waffling on whether or not to pick this up. Why is it so small, and why are they so expensive.. I want MOAR! lol
Nidia – Lit From Within recently posted…Neon Double-Stamped FlowersMy Profile

    1. I waffled too, Nidia, but because of the cute hat box I went for it. When I priced out the individual items, it was worth it. I wish I could wear the fragrance because it’s lovely but straight florals don’t last on me. I am loving the two hand creams (why two?), and I’m eager to use the pretty rose soap! I think there will be another $20 box for fall. We’ll see what’s in it!

  22. As obsessed as I am with L’OCCITANE hand creams those gummies were my fave part! I’m glad they weren’t soap of any kind because I didn’t even hesitate before popping one into my mouth. I saw champagne and all bets were off lol

Love your review of this Spring set and smooth move with the gummy bears!! Man, I always make short work in any snacks that come in my Birchbox or other goody bag!

    Ursula aka Blueridge Beauty

    1. Haha, Ursula. Those little champagne bears were delicious! And I do love the hand creams and soap!

  27. rach says:

I would be lying if I said I didn’t want the gummy bears. I totally want the gummy bears. L’Occitane does some nice boxes/bags/special offers. I passed on this one since I already have the soap and wasn’t interested in the fragrance (I’m not much for jasmine) but both of those hand cremes are tops on my list. And in my opinion, the more hand creme that’s in these things, the better! With my eternally dry skin there isn’t a bag in this house that doesn’t already have some tube of moisturiser tucked away in it, and L’Occitane is a much nicer surprise to find than a boring tube of fisherman’s friend or something. 😉

    1. I wonder if they sell those yummy gummies in the store? I’ve gotta check. They were so delicious and tasted just like champagne! The hand cremes are the best. I can’t remember if I have tried the shea butter cremes from L’Occi before. I haven’t tried the soap since I stayed at a hotel on Park Ave in NYC a few years ago, so I’m psyched to try it. I’m with you on hand creme tubes all over the place!

  28. I didn’t know they did a little box like that! While the contents don’t seem too terribly impressive, as long as you’re getting your money’s worth, I think it’s a cute thing to try out a time or two. $20 is a great price for a little gift to yourself.

    1. Have you tried L’Occitane’s hand cremes or soaps? They are the best! The scent sample was beautiful but florals don’t last on me, unfortunately. I enjoyed the box. In fact, I keep it on my desk and I just put on some hand cream. I think I wish I got a shower gel sample, however, instead of the second hand creme – that was a bit odd to have two of them!

  29. I was just at the mall today, should have grabbed one! I really like L’Occitane hand cream and their body care.
