Lorac Giveaway Winner & Quick Shoutout for Jordana Twist & Shine Rock ‘N Rouge Moisturizing Balm Stain

I’ve just come back from our vacation in Arizona, but I’m not quite back in the swing of things yet. We had a great time, and I’d love to share a few more pix, especially of gorgeous Sedona. But I’d like to submit a quick post announcing the winner of the Lorac Riesling Romance Eyeshadow Palette and say a few words about a product I love.

Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain: Rock ‘n Rouge

Jordana launched the Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain line about a year and a half ago, and I’m so happy that it continues to be part of their permanent product line. Fresh Fig, a pink/purple shade (reviewed here), is one of my favorite lippies, and I wear it regularly because it’s comfortable and it lasts and lasts. While we were in Sedona, I realized I didn’t bring a red lipstick so I picked up Rock ‘n Rouge, shade 07 at Walgreens.

I love that this balm is both moisturizing and provides a long-lasting stain. Although the shine fades after a few hours (depending on what you eat or drink), the stain is looooooong lasting. I remove it at the end of the day with makeup remover – it’s that good.

Rock ‘N Rouge is a tomato red. I love it!

Jordana Twist & Shine comes in 10 shades. It’s sold on the Jordana website and at Walgreen’s. $3.99. In fact, now it seems to be priced at $3.19 at walgreens.com. Made in the U.S.

What’s your favorite long-wearing lipstick?

Rock N Rouge is really pretty! That is impressive staying power. I don’t specifically buy long-wearing lipsticks. Most of the time I don’t care if I have to reapply. I’ll say my favorites are Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks. They are comfortable and non-drying, yet they dry down completely and last until I eat something oily.

    1. I’m with you, Rachel – I mostly don’t buy specifically long wear lipsticks except for the rare occasions when I know I can’t reapply. For that I have Stila Stay All Day, but frankly the Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm, though it has a different look, lasts as long. I have never tried Jeffree Star but I’ve heard great things. Do you buy it online or is it in stores anywhere?

      1. Rachel R. says:

Sorry! I am so behind on my email. lol

I’ve bee buying Jeffree Star from his site, but I’ve heard Beautylish sells them, too. His stuff is not sold in stores at this time. He’s coming out with metallic liquid lipsticks, traditional bullet lipsticks, and highighters soon. The swatches and previews he’s show make all three products look fabulous, so I’m very excited!

        1. Rachel R. says:

Please forgive the typos. I can’t write worth a darn this week.

          1. no worries, Rachel!

        2. I saw the new metallic liquid lipsticks on FB, and the shades were knockouts. I’m curious about the bullet lipsticks. I don’t often by makeup when I can’t try it out first, but who knows!

          1. Rachel R. says:

I’m hoping he’ll do a swatch video for the bullet lipsticks soon. I saw one on a tutorial he did a while back, and it looked really nice.

          2. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a video, Rachel. I wouldn’t have known to look for it. Thanks!

Congrats Paula! Allison, have you ever tried/reviewed micro needles or Derma Rollers? I read some rave reviews on the process but no brands were mentioned. One said she got hers on Ebay…ummm…they have hundreds lol. Just curious if this is truly an effective at home treatment or just a phase and I trust your opinion.Hope you’re super relaxed after your vacation. – Laura

    1. Laura, I reviewed Diva D’Or Derma Roller on the blog a little over a year ago: https://www.neversaydiebeauty.com/productspotlight/diva-dor-derma-roller/ I used it for a few months and I actually kinda like the feel of it. And the “technology” makes some sense to me. But after a while I fell out of the habit of using it, and I’m not sure that I was able to see visible benefits of using the device. I believe it’s priced around $20 on Amazon so it won’t break the bank if you choose to try it. For me, the most effective skincare tool I own is my Foreo Luna for Sensitive Skin and I was fortunate to get it from a friend because it’s expensive but worth buying when there’s a sale or Ulta/Sephora coupon.

      1. Laura Sorvillo says:

Well Thank you for cementing my decision to get me a Foreo Luna! I’ve been looking at them for a while now. 🙂

        1. I need to do a review, Laura. But I’ve been using it since January, and I love it. I would wait for a sale, but I hate paying full price for anything lol

  3. Congratulations to Paula! And wow, that is a gorgeous red, Allison and I can see why you love it. I wish Jordana is available here but alas, we only get the sister brand Milani.

ps: Come back soon, I miss your presence! xx

    1. Thank you, Shireen! You are so kind! I really appreciate you reading my blog!! We got back from vacation yesterday, and I’m recovering from all the running around we did. I hope to be back with a full schedule next week, lol. I’m sorry that Milani doesn’t sell Jordana in Canada because the brand is a real bargain. They may be having issues getting it into Canada’s “drug stores” since it does compete with Milani though it’s a lower price point and I don’t think it’s a cruelty-free brand. But performance- and value-wise, I love Jordana. Hopefully, it will eventually find its way north of the border 🙂

    1. I love this line of lippies from Jordana! Fun, semi glossy color, great price. I’m sold

  11. Cindi says:

That is a great red lip on you. Not like a holiday red. It looks summery like a watermelon red.

    1. Thank you so much, Cindi! It’s a glossy crayon so you are right, it’s a summery red. Perhaps because of my red hair, it looks tomato-y on me but it could be watermelonish, I think, too

  12. Your vacation looked amazing! I have never tried any Jordana products before so maybe I’ll stop into a Walgreens soon. Love the color on you.

    1. Thanks, Kristina. Our vacay really was awesome. Something to keep in mind for when your daughters are older. Jordana has some great products: Twist & Shine, Modern Matte lipsticks, and their colored liquid eyeliners are my favorites as well as the cute cheek stick blushes. Definitely worth checking out at Walgreens.
