Luxury Effective Skincare Treatment from Tatcha: Eye Serum & Overnight Memory Serum

My friend Mary Kay just returned from her first trip to Japan, to visit her son who is studying in Tokyo for the year. I spoke to her at length about the trip, and she was so moved by her time there: the warmth of the people, the beauty of the country, the food, and the wonderful traditions and rituals that she got to take part in or observe. She said she’d move there if she could!

Her experiences in Japan bring to mind my feelings about Tatcha, the luxurious and effective skincare based on the rituals, heritage and modern skincare technology of Japan.

I have loved every skincare product I’ve tried from Tatcha. Although not inexpensive, Tatcha products are worth the splurge, IMHO. They’re gorgeous and they work.

A few weeks ago, I received a stunning package from Tatcha. It took my breath away. A exquisite box adorned with handmade rice paper around the middle like an obi sash in shades of aqua and green with a gold ribbon on top.

Inside nestled among the satin fabric were two new lavender packaged products from the LUMINOUS product line, an orchid blossom and a message to me in a small glass bottle. What a way to start the weekend!

Tatcha LUMINOUS Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum

Deep Hydration Eye Serum comes in a slim elegant plastic tube with gold accents. When you take off the cap, you will see an unusual  curved plastic dispenser tip that you use to apply the medium weight white cream to your eye area. The dispenser tip really feels like it’s made of ceramic and it feels very cooling to my skin as I apply the cream. I apply it to my under eye, the looser skin under my brows, as well as to my crows feet. It does a wonderful job hydrating my parched skin and it does help tone up the skin under my brows and make it appear smoother.

Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum contains Okinawa Red Algae, honeysuckle leaf and caffeine along with powerful botanicals that plump the skin around the eyes to diminish fine lines and reduce puffiness. The formula contains a 23-karat gold dust that brightens the under eye area.

Full size 15 ml/1.5 fl. oz. Priced at $95. Also available in Travel Size. Sold at Barney’s, Sephora and on the Tatcha website.

Tatcha LUMINOUS Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate

Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate makes an incredible impression in several ways! The beautiful lavender glass jar comes with a tiny, gold spoon attached to the lid of the jar with an indigo ribbon so you don’t have to put your fingers into the jar. I just love looking at it because it’s that lovely!

Inside is a white gelee that feels smooth and somewhat cooling. I apply a spoonful to my entire face after cleansing and then apply moisturizer or night cream. It was developed to rejuvenate skin during sleep. The mineral-rich core ingredient Okinawa Red Algae restores skin’s luminosity from the inside out. It contains Tatcha’s proprietary, anti-aging HADASEITM-3 Bioactive Complex as well as seven rich botanical extracts including ginseng, squalane, wild thyme, and sweet marjoram to visibly improve skin clarity, texture, and tone for overall renewed radiance overnight.

The next morning, my skin looks more rested and plumped. But right after application, it gives my skin an amazing glow. Although it is meant to be used at night, I sometimes use Overnight Memory Serum during the day or when going out for the evening too to make my skin look more glowy!

The white gelée appears to be similar in composition to another Japanese skincare product that I own, in that after I scoop out a bit to use, the surface has resettled to perfect smoothness by the time I open the jar again the next day! Space age indeed!

Full size 50 ml/1.7 oz $110. Also available in Travel Size.

I adore both of these new skincare products. My skin is so happy when I use them. They are wonderful additions to my skincare routine. I encourage you to visit the Tatcha website, Sephora or Barney’s to learn more about these new products or any of the gorgeous skincare products in the extensive line. I also have a Tatcha ad at the top of my pages that you can go through if you like. Tatcha Sunrise: A Plum Blossom Lipstick

Tatcha recently entered the world of color cosmetics by introducing its first lipstick: Kyoto Red Silk. Following on that success, Tatcha has just introduced a stunning new lipstick, Sunrise, A Plum Blossom Lipstick.

Tatcha Sunrise Plum Blossom Lipstick, a luxury pink shade of lipstick neversaydiebeauty.com

Here’s what they say about it:

“a delicate pink lipstick inspired by the color of Japanese Plum Blossoms. The light pink flowers peeking through the snow are the first signs of spring after a long winter in Kyoto. The universally flattering pink shade creates a creamy finish while 23-karat gold dust illuminates the lips for a perfect smile.”

I have not had the opportunity to try Sunrise Plum Blossom Lipstick yet myself, but it is definitely one I intend to buy. I’m salivating just looking at the picture! The  shade looks perfect for me, and I think it would be flattering on most women. The packaging and the design of the bullet are so lovely. I’d say it’s a wow! Priced at $55.

    1. I know, isn’t it? I’m dying to get this. I was hoping I might luck out and get it from T, but I didn’t really expect to. If I can justify splurging on qualifying for the Barney’s goody bag in March, this will be one of my purchases. I haven’t tried the Camellia Oil but I’ve read nothing but raves!

  7. Ummm…wow the packaging has me sold! I’ve heard so many good things about this brand. And love that the concentrate has a holder for the spoon! I have so many jars of masques and creams that come with a little scoop but they always get lost or dirty!

    1. I know, isn’t that amazing how they figured out an elegant way to keep the golden spoon with the jar?! And the gelee of the concentrate is incredible – similar to Shiseido Multi-Solution Gel – it returns to its pristine perfection after you use it.

  8. I’d like to travel the world someday, and that includes Japan. For now, I’ll settle with trying one of TATCHA’s products. 🙂 The packaging on that lipstick looks really cool, and I can definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of that shade.

The travel size versions are worth it because they give you a good amount of product for the money!

The Barney’s bag I got in September came with such amazingly great stuff, I think I may splurge and the Tatcha lippie will be part of the splurge.
