Make Contouring Easier with Beauty Junkees Contour Brush Set

Contouring and strobing have been the rage for the past couple of years. While I keep it natural looking, having good brushes makes the process easier.

I had been eyeing the gorgeous brushes from Beauty Junkees for several months, and I was delighted to receive their contour set to show you. First, I’d like to tell you a little about Beauty Junkees.

Beauty Junkees, Inc. was founded by Julia Ritzenthaler in 2013, who started in the  ecommerce business in 2005. Julia is a junkee herself as well as someone who believes in putting the customer first. Her mission is to create high quality beauty tools at a reasonable price. The Beauty Junkees product lines include professional quality makeup brushes, makeup sponges and a knot detangler hair brush. The company offers a 100% money back guarantee on all products, no questions asked. In addition to their exceptional value and product quality, Beauty Junkees provides great customer service, especially from an online retailer.

Beauty Junkees 5 Piece Contour Makeup Brush Set

The Beauty Junkees Contour & Highlighting Set comes in a handy black faux leather zippered case with 4 synthetic bristle brushes and one blending sponge:

  • Sculptor
  • Duo Fiber (I’m a big fan of the Duo Fiber stippling brush for applying highly pigmented blush so I don’t overdo it!)
  • Highlighter
  • Detailer (great for slimming the sides of the nose or other detail work!)

The brushes feel very substantial, and the handles are crafted from wood. Yet they are lightweight and easy to hold. The synthetic bristle brush heads are fully packed and amazingly soft! They feel sooooo good. Plus they are antibacterial and hypoallergenic. Here’s a closeup of each of the brush heads:

The ferrules are made of copper (though they’re silver toned) and they’re double-crimped to hold in the bristles. The quality of these very affordable brushes is way beyond what I would have imagined. In fact, they remind me of my IT Cosmetics brushes. Importantly, they clean up easily and so far, I’ve had no shedding. The blending sponge is latex-free, and has the perfect softness/density ratio for me. I love that the sponge has a flat angled side as well as curves.

The zippered case is nice looking and slim, though it can hold a LOT of brushes. In fact, if you’re traveling, you could pretty easily fit all your brushes in this one case.

The Beauty Junkees Contour Set is sold on Amazon, and it’s priced at $24.97 which is a steal for these great quality brushes and sponge. And to sweeten the deal, Beauty Junkees is offering a 25% discount off of Any One Individual Makeup Brush or Makeup Brush/Sponge Set with the Code: NEVERSAY
One redemption per customer
Expires on: 4.31.2016

For Canadians, you can order directly from the Beauty Junkees website: http://www.beautyjunkees.com/category/makeup/. There is a $10 shipping fee to Canada, but you still qualify for a 25% discount on your first order, so it’s still a great deal!

That would be less than $20 for this 5 piece set. Wow. Usually you’d pay that much for one brush. Check out the Beauty Junkees Contour Set on Amazon and check out the rest of the Beauty Junkees’ brushes and sets in their Amazon shop here while you’re at it. You’ll see a lot to like!

Tess Galen recently posted…L’Oreal Infallible® Matte-Matic LinerMy Profile

    1. Tess, in all honesty, I have never seen such a bargain for such high quality brushes. I am going to give away a set of Sonia Kashuk brushes that I recently bought but haven’t used because there are sooooooo much better. They’re better than the IT Cosmetics for Ulta brushes that I bought. And they’re as good as the pricey IT Cosmetics brushes, IMHO, that I bought from IT. The Beauty Junkees kabuki set is heaven and with the 25% discount, it’s beyond a steal.

  9. I’ve never heard of this brand but the bristles look like a great quality and the prices sound super affordable! I think it’s really cool that the bristles are anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic! Great review, Allison 🙂

Bailey recently posted…Essie Spring 2016My Profile

    1. Yes, sponges are great for contouring and highlight. Before I got a blending sponge, I noticed in one of my photos that I had a highlight stripe down my nose. I looked ridiculous. Now I remember to blend, blend, blend

  14. Those brushes look really plush and that’s saying something. Te money back guarantee makes them really tempting to me.
Aleya Bamdad recently posted…Atlantis Bahamas ReviewMy Profile

    1. They are definitely worth considering, Aleya! I have two more sets that I also love, the kabuki set and the eye brush set. Take a look at Amazon and at their website: beautyjunkees.com. Their prices can’t be beat and with the 25% discount, it’s beyond belief.

  15. I hear nothing but gushing about this brush brand. I’d love to try them.
Erika recently posted…Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Collection Lipsticks | My Notes & Lip SwatchesMy Profile

    1. I am tossing my Sonia Kashuk brushes after getting these. And IMHO, I prefer the Beauty Junkees Duo Fiber to the IT Cosmetics Duo Fiber I just bought in January. It’s softer!

  16. I’m definitely a brush junkie! I love trying all kinds of brushes. Like you, I’m a big fan of the duo-fiber ones for blushes because I love super-pigmented blushes, but not having a clown cheek!
Nidia – Lit From Within recently posted…A Rose That Smells Sweet, and Helps Sensitive SkinMy Profile

    1. I prefer my Beauty Junkees Duo Fiber to the IT Cosmetics Duo Fiber brush that I bought back in January. I can’t believe it!

  17. They all look really good! I don’t contour much though. Usually only for blog looks, and even then I only occasionally do it…

    1. You should see the kabuki brush set from Beauty Junkees. They are uber soft and unbelievably densely packed. I’m in love <3

  18. These look great! I bet these kits would make the perfect gifts.

    1. Yes, they would, Anastasia! great suggestion

  19. I’m intrigued by that sponge.
Justina recently posted…Low Maintenance Hair Product Favorites from MatrixMy Profile

    1. It’s a great sponge. Love the flat side, and it’s the perfect density

  20. How did the black sponge work for you? Is it comparable to the beauty blender? I read through your review but didn’t see you mention it…but I might’ve missed it, sorry!
Katie Garvin recently posted…5 Ways to Get Summer-Ready SkinMy Profile

    1. I mentioned it briefly, Katie. I love the flat side and the density is perfect for me. Beauty Junkees is launching a sponge set in a few weeks so I’ll talk more about it then. I’ve tried a lot of different blending sponges recently, and this one seems about perfect. I am no longer a Beauty Blender loyalist. I like the one I got from Sephora too. The Pur Cosmetics sponge is good too but a little denser.

  21. Ah, finally .. a black beauty type blended sponge .. lol. It makes me crazy that I cannot clean product stains from the orange Real Techniques sponge.

    Monica.
MoncaP recently posted…A white dress with black trim for EasterMy Profile

    1. Hmmm, do you use the Beauty Blender soap? That gets stains out of every color, IMHO. But yes, the black is great!

      1. No I’ve never tried the Beauty Blender soap .. I guess I’ll add it to my beauty list. I always think ‘special’ soaps are a scam .. why doesn’t regular soap do the same thing in my mind 😛

        M.

        1. Monica, I thought the same thing so I used baby shampoo and Dr. Bronner’s. Finally, I got a sample of the blender cleaner soap with a new Beauty Blender and it really is a game changer. It works sooooooooo much better than baby shampoo and Dr. Bronner’s. It gets out my makeup stains completely.

  22. This looks like a really nice set! My brushes are all mix and match hahah
Destany recently posted…Nail Art Made Easy with Lady Queen! My Profile

    1. Lisa, I can’t recommend the brushes by Beauty Junkees more. I have two other sets as well, and they’re beyond belief. I don’t know how they can deliver this quality for the price. With the 25% off, they’re almost free! You should check ’em out!

  25. This set looks great! The Duo Fiber brush looks so soft and fluffy. I really need to get my hands on a couple…

  28. The highlighter brush is needed in my life asap! xx
