Maple Holistics Silk 18 Hair Conditioner

I’m quite satisfied with the haircare products I’ve been using, but I decided to take a chance and try out a new hair conditioner from Maple Holistics, a natural haircare brand. Silk 18 Conditioner contains “18 different silk amino acids to improve moisture retention”.

I’ve used the hair conditioner a few times since I received it, and I like it. In fact, I used it when I washed my hair before going to a family dinner on Sunday night. I was chatting with my cousin’s wife, and my aunt came over to join our conversation. While I was talking to my aunt’s daughter-in-law, she started patting my hair. I’ve known my aunt since I was born, I was her first niece, and to the best of my memory, she has never done that before. I wish I could remember exactly what I said to her, but it was something like, “Aunt Sheila, what are you doing?”. She answered that my hair looked so shiny and it felt so silky. Since the only thing different in my haircare routine was the conditioner, well, I guess the Maple Holistics Silk 18 Conditioner worked!

smooth hair

Silk 18 Conditioner is lighter weight than the conditioner I use most often, and I was a bit concerned that it might not be hydrating enough, but it definitely made my hair silky smooth and not dry at all. In addition, my hair didn’t feel greasy at all and didn’t need to be shampooed again for 3 days. Impressive.

The scent of the conditioner is a soft, natural vanilla. I really love it!

The key ingredients are:

  • silk amino acids
  • shea butter
  • aloe vera
  • green tea
  • pomegranate
  • hibiscus
  • sea buckthorn
  • argan
  • jojoba
  • botanical keratin (natural fibrous proteins)
  • natural vanilla.

Silk 18 Conditioner comes in two sizes: 8 and 16 oz. in an amber, BPA-free plastic bottle. It’s priced at about $12.97 and $23.35. It’s hypoallergenic, safe for color-treated hair and cruelty-free. It’s made in the U.S. Silk 18 Conditioner is sold on the Maple Holistics website along with other haircare products from the brand as well as on Amazon. And I recommend it!

  13. Your hair looks extremely gorgeous, soft and shiny! I know that, as much as I chemically treat my hair and use styling tools on it, I’m always on the hunt for products to make my hair appear healthy, even if I am killing it by coloring and styling it, ha! I have a crazy sensitive scalp, so I’m always hesitant to try new hair products, but this one sounds like it might be something that I could use!

  15. I usually use thick conditioners, too, but I’m looking forward to trying this after your glowing review. I’m guessing it’s just as hard to get my curly hair to be shiny as it is your color-treated hair.

    1. Actually, shininess isn’t the problem for me – the color-conditioner at the salon builds that in, but my hair can be exceedingly dry especially during the summer when I jog outside in the sun, swim in the ocean and use my flat-iron a couple of times a week. This conditioner helped hydrate my “crispy” ends!

  16. I love Vanilla scented products, and I really like scented conditioners. It’s like perfume for the hair 🙂

    1. I agree! I don’t know that this scent lasts that long but it smells great while using it!

  17. Your hair is gorgeous 🙂

  20. Glad it worked for you, Allison!

I tried the Silk-18 conditioner along with the Argan shampoo from Maple Holistic, and I loved both. What I liked most about the conditioner is that it does not make my scalp oily! Opposite to what most hair experts say; I apply this conditioner to my hair and to the roots, it helps moisturize my scalp, but never weighed down my thin hair, maybe because of its light creamy consistency.
It is absolutely one of the best conditioner I have ever tried!

  21. This brand is very new to me, thank you for the information. And the price isn’t bad, either, which is awesome! I don’t know why, but I hate spending too much on hair products…..I’d rather spend it on makeup, haha!
