I lucked out when @Influenster chose me to receive one of the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic shadow palettes.

I requested the green and gold Edgitorial palette, and that’s what I was sent to try out for free! I’ve been using it for almost a month, so I wanted to share my thoughts and swatches with you.

First, can you believe how sleek and gorgeous the slim, shiny black packaging is? It’s a pleasure to look at.

It has a large usable mirror too.

I chose Edgitorial because I thought this palette of neutrals, greens and golds would be great for fall, I had fewer of these shades already in my stash, and I thought many of the shades would suit my coloring.

Nevertheless, the Eye-Conic collection has 5 other color selections that might suit you better: pink-purples, plum-purples, neutrals, brights, and the red-oranges that are so hot this year.

Each palette contains a mix of finishes – mattes, metallics, and a little shimmer. It’s great to have everything you need in one palette.

Edgitorial Colors

Here are the color descriptions for the Edgitorial palette:

  • Take A Memo: pale peach matte (in my swatches, I put this second rather than first in the hopes that it would show up better). This shade is almost a perfect match for my skin tone so it doesn’t show up too well. I use it for a natural look on my lids or under my brows.
  • Next Season: white shimmer. This is a great shade for the inner corner, under brows or as a highlighter on my cheeks.
  • We’ll See: milk chocolate matte. I probably get the most use out of this shade. I use it primarily as a crease shade for any look I create with this palette.
  • Pleather Python: yellow gold metallic. Beautiful shade that I often wear in the middle of my lid for a pop of metallic gold. For the holidays, I think I’ll be wearing it to cover my lid for more bling.
  • Making A Scene: bronze metallic. This is my favorite shade in the palette, but then, I’m on a bronze binge. Making A Scene looks great paired with my new Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stash that I just wrote about here a few days ago.
  • Enviously: deep green-grey matte that’s aptly named. I use this primarily in the outer V.
  • Everywhere: black with a tiny amount of glitter. Black scares me at this stage of the game, so I must admit that I don’t use this one.

What’s It Like to Use the Palette?

The shades kick up a little dust in the pan. You can see it in the black swatch. But there’s no fallout from the brush when I apply them because they feel like butter on the skin and adhere very well, though I always use eye primer. They blend easily. They feel great on my dry lids.

The shades last until I remove them with no fading at all.

Here I am wearing the bronze Making A Scene on my lid with We’ll See in the crease. I used my Urban Decay Stash Eye Pencil along the lower lash line and in a skinny line along the upper lash line with a tiny wing.

    1. I can’t keep the names straight of all of the MJ Eye-Conic palettes so I have to look up Scandalust and see which one it is (I’m guessing the purple-plums??). I would love to get a second one of these pretties myself!

    1. Thank you, Marcia! I used it again tonight when Jeff and I went out for his birthday, and I amped it up more. I really love this palette. If I didn’t have a million palettes, I’d love the new MJ smaller version of the ABH Renaissance or UD Heat, it’s so pretty too, but then so are the purple ones. Oh, I love ’em all.

  9. Gabrielle says:

I see from your vanity that you’re a wearer of Guerlain fragrances, as am I. Mine is Mitsouko, though now that they’ve changed the formula, it isn’t the same. *sigh* I shall have to find a new Guerlain to love.

    1. Gabrielle, you are absolutely right. When I was really young, I wore L’Heure Bleu. In fact, I bought my first bottle in Paris and the saleswoman told me I was too young for it. I bought it again several years ago as you can see by my vanity photo, and the fragrance is definitely different than it was. I don’t wear it now, but I can’t throw it away. I use it as room spray sometimes. Mostly, I wear scents by Frederic Malle: Musc Ravageur and Lipstick Rose. And I have several other scents at all different price points that I like. Mitsouko is a fabulous scent, but alas, it doesn’t smell good on me. I think that the formulas of all the classic Guerlain scents have changed over the years. I actually think there are more synthetic ingredients in them but maybe not. I hope you find a new one to love!

      1. Gabrielle says:

I read that they had to replace the oak moss in the original Mitsouko formula with a synthetic and oh is the difference noticeable. I almost burst into tears when I sprayed it on myself and it wasn’t the same. I would imagine something similar has happened to L’Heure Bleu.

        1. I’m sure you’re right, Gabrielle. They replaced some natural ingredients with synthetics.

  10. I love the Marc Jacobs ! Gold is so pretty , love your look. Brush is too cute !

    1. Thanks, Uma. I’m really enjoying this palette. The brush is from an IT Cosmetics collection at Ulta

  11. I like how sleek the case is!
