Greetings from Lake Lure NC! It is hot, hot, hot here! It truly is 95 degrees during the day. Today, Jeff and I went out on the lake in a kayak for two. I was amazed to learn that this big lake was man-made. A visionary in the late 1920s turned farmland into a gorgeous lake. After we returned to shore, we went for a quick swim and the water was like bath water especially after swimming in the chilly Atlantic Ocean all summer. Here’s a view onto the lake with the mountains in the background at sunset. Very picturesque.
Tomorrow is the big day. The wedding is at 5:30pm but we have to be there at 4- not sue why so early. At the rehearsal today at the farm where the wedding will be held, it was beastly hot. It’s going to be even worse for the men in their suits. Wish us luck!
