Masks Masks Masks for Face or Eyes!

I love masks of all kinds, and I try to use them frequently. Today, I want to introduce you to four masks – two for the face and two for eyes – that I think you need to know about. I think they’d make good gifts or stocking stuffers for the skincare lovers on your gift list as well as nice additions to your own mask stash.

Callyssee Hot Stuff Thermal Mask (face)

I was super-excited to get to try out this self-heating mask. I had never heard of a mask that warms up on contact with my skin. How cool, lol!

Callyssee Hot Stuff Thermal Mask is a kaolin (clay) mask that works with your own body heat to warm up on your skin. It doesn’t get hot, it just gets warm, so there’s nothing to be concerned about. In fact, on a cold night, it is so cozy to use it. I wouldn’t mind if it got even a little hotter on these chilly night 😉

The mask has a number of key ingredients that provide the following benefits:

  • clay to smooth lines and wrinkles
  • Zeolite, a mineral that acts as a skin detox to remove pollutants and oil as well as to balance skin’s pH
  • zinc oxide to calm irritated skin
  • organic green coffee/”Coffee Arabica” to combat dark spots and fine lines.

To use the mask, cleanse your skin and leave your face wet. Stir up the mask with the blending spoon provided. Apply about a quarter-size amount to your wet skin. It will begin to heat up. Leave it on for about 3 minutes or so, and rinse off with cool water. This mask can be used once or twice a week.

So much fun. I love it.

Glamglow GravityMud Firming Treatment (face)

GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Treatment, travel size tube, neversaydiebeauty.com

I got this travel size GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Treatment in a Sephora Play bag some time ago, and it was love at first use. GravityMud Firming Treatment is a clay mask that starts out white and turns silver on your skin. You peel off after it dries, about 20 minutes after application. Who doesn’t want to look like the Tin Man?

Ingredients TEAOXI™ Marshmallow + Licorice Leaf leave skin toned and firmer.

A full size jar  of Glamglow GravityMud Firming Treatment (1.7 oz./50 g) is $69 which is kind of pricey, IMO, but you can buy the 0.5 oz. travel size for $24 on the Glamglow website or at Sephora. Made in the U.S.

VII Code O2M Oxygen Eye Mask

VII Code O2M Oxygen Eye Mask are under eye masks that you apply before bed that help you wake up to more rested looking eyes. The eye masks contain vitamins, antioxidants, proteins, botanicals, peptides, and essential fatty acids that will help fade dark circles and fine lines to give you healthy skin. I have heard from others who have used them that VII Code O2M Eye Masks also have reduce eye bags.

Apply the cooling jelly-infused masks to clean dry skin under your eyes. During the summer, for more “refreshment”, keep them in the refrigerator for an even stronger cooling effect.

Remove the little tray from the silver packaging that keeps them fresh. Cleanse and dry your skin. Press each mask on to help the goodies in the jelly penetrate your skin. Leave on for 8 hours while you’re in dreamland. One thing I must say is that it helps to be a “back sleeper” so the masks will stay put. But if you’re a stomach sleeper like me, you can wear them during the day for 4 hours while you go about your business at home. Wearing them for so many hours helps you get longer lasting benefits than quicker eye masks. I had no issues using the masks on my sensitive eyes.

Each box contains 6 sets of masks priced at $55. Sold on the VII Code website where you can get 4% off and free shipping. Made in Germany.

Check out the VII Code website for a very handy glossary of ingredients that explains what the ingredients in skincare products do. The key ingredients in the O2M Eye Masks include quite a few of my favorite skincare ingredients:

  1. Sodium Hyaluronate: Boosts skin’s moisture content, reduce inflammation, and help prevent moisture loss.
  2. Sodium PCA: Helps to retain moisture, prevents our skin cells from losing water and drying out, reduces inflammation, and prevents skin from aging.
  3. Vitamin E: An antioxidant that neutralizes the oxidant effect of free radicals, which damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines, and wrinkles.
  4. Allantoin: Helps to soften and protect, while actively soothing skin. It also stimulates cell regeneration, promoting healthy skin.
  5. Aloe barbadensis, Algin: Helps to hydrate your skin.

Masqueology 24K Gold Under Eye Gel

Masqueology 24K Gold Under Eye Gel jar, neversaydiebeauty.com

Compared to the VII Code Eye Masks, the Masqueology 24K Gold Under Eye Gels are quickie eye masks that you wear for 20 minutes. Great to use for a pick-me-up before an event or just whenever.

I love the gold jar that comes in a nice black outer box. They also provide a handy scoop that helps you remove the masks from the jar.

The 24K Gold Under Eye Gels contain 3 key ingredients for the following benefits:

  • 24K gold: increase elasticity and firm skin, slow signs of aging
  • niaciaimde: helps fade dark spots and fine lines and wrinkles
  • hydrolyzed collagen: helps skin produce more collagen (yay!), help skin look plumper, moisturize.

You apply the eye masks to clean, dry skin. The gel masks are a little slippery but once they set up under your eyes, they don’t go anyplace and they’re easy to keep on. I have sensitive eyes, but have no problems using these masks. After 20 minutes, remove and allow the gel to absorb. Easy peasy for instant, temporary brightening and tightening.

The Masqueology 24K Gold Under Eye Gel jar contains 15 pairs of eye masks. This gorgeous-looking packaging and masks cost only $15 – the steal of the century! They make one great-looking yet super-affordable gift or self-treat. Sold on the Masqueology website, Walmart.com and Amazon. Made in Korea. Cruelty-free.

So here are four masks for face or eyes that I’ve been using lately. Which masks are you loving now?

    2. I like the VII Code Masks, but unfortunately I sleep on my stomach and they fall off! Masqueology is a terrific mask brand that makes a lot of sheet masks for both prestige and mass market price points – I’ve had good luck with them and the affordable eye gels are great for a pick-me-up before going out at night or just a little more hydration. Too bad about the Glamglow – I just love the silver peel-off mask
