May ’19 Beauty Empties: Project Pan Continues

I’ve just finished the fifth month of Project Pan, the blogger initiative where a group of us make our individual goals for finishing up beauty products during 2019. I’m not sure how many of the bloggers are still participating, but I’m still going strong.

Although I didn’t use up as many products this month as I did during January through March, I still made progress toward my goal of using up 100 beauty products in 2019. Here’s what I used up in May.

Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb: As you probably know, I adore Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb. This is either the third or fourth full size jar of Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb I’ve used up. I love the highly moisturizing gel-cream formula that is so good at helping to firm the skin above my crease and it doesn’t create milia. Repurchase? Yes I did.

PCAskin Hydrator Plus Broad Spectrum SPF 30: I enjoyed using this lightweight but hydrating moisturizer with sunscreen from PCAskin. When first applied, this moisturizer with both chemical and physical sunscreen ingredients looks slightly whitish on my skin but within seconds it completely disappears. It’s a nice daytime moisturizer. Repurchase? No because I have about a million other daytime moisturizers and sunscreens that I’m testing. However, I do recommend this moisturizer with SPF 30.

Airelle Age Defying Facial Serum: I consider this lightweight, fragrance-free hydrating liquid serum to be an essence, and I used it twice a day after toner and before serum. It’s natural and created for dermatologists to use and sell in their practice. Repurchase? I was so sad to have used up this wonderful essence. But because it’s so darn expensive, I can’t afford to buy another.

The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: I got this natural, gentle eye makeup remover in my Advent Calendar from The Body Shop, and I love it! It works so well removing hard to remove mascara and eye makeup. Repurchase? I will buy more at some point, but right now I have a lot of micellar water. Actually, I find this even better at removing hard to remove mascara than micellar water. It’s good stuff.

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Eye Lifting Balm: I think I got this travel size Caudalie Eye Lifting Balm in a Sephora Play box, and I forgot that I had it. It is a lovely medium weight gel-cream that was a delight to use. Repurchase? Right now, I have lots of eye creams and gels, so no. But I recommend it especially for those with sensitive eyes. It was so gentle!

RapidBrow by RapidLash: I’m not sure this product fits in the Skincare category, but whatever. RapidBrow definitely helped me grow thicker brows. The tube lasted me about 4 months, but I used it only at night rather than twice a day as recommended. I still had good results. Repurchase? Because I would still like my right eyebrow to be as thick as my left, I want to get another tube.

Bath and Body

South of France French Milled Soap, Violet, Travel/Guest Size: I love love love the natural bar soaps made with organic ingredients from South of France. They are gentle, non-drying, lightly hydrating, and the fragrances are absolutely divine! The violet scent that reminded me of Violet hard candies lasted till the soap was finished. Repurchase? I have three full size bars to use, but when I do finish them, I will buy more of the Violet scent because it is so special.

Nature Island Botanicals Natural Bar Soap: I have been using Daphne’s handmade artisan natural and organic soaps for more than 15 years. This one had a blue and fuchsia swirl and smelled like raspberries. Repurchase? I have more soaps from NIB in my stash, but I know I’ll be buying more soap from Daphne when she comes to the Waterfront Festival in Gloucester in August. I strongly recommend her soaps and body lotions/butters.

Marvis Amarelli Licorice Toothpaste: Marvis Italian toothpaste is such a treat! I am slowly making my way through my stash of flavors. Licorice was combined with mint in this non-fluoride toothpaste, and I loved the flavor. Repurchase? Not now because I still have a few more tubes to use up.

Sephora Watermelon Cleansing Wipes: I found these wipes at the impulse purchase area at Sephora during the VIB sale in early May. I bought this travel size pack to take with me on our trip to Asheville a few weeks ago. The wipes were very lightly scented with watermelon. The size of the wipes was smaller than other wipes I’ve used like Neutrogena, but the smaller size worked for me. Whatever the wipes are impregnated with was very gentle, but it worked well to remove my eye makeup and face makeup. The wipe itself was somewhat more fabric like than other wipes that seem more papery. I liked these a lot. Repurchase? I don’t use wipes at home, but I do like them for travel. I will buy another pack for my next trip.

This month, it looks like it’s Jen from Live Laugh Contour and me holding down the fort. But click over to Jen’s post. She did an exemplary job this month!

    1. Marvis Toothpaste is the best! And so many yummy flavors to choose from 🙂

  2. You are doing such a great job finishing things up every single month, Allison!

    1. I’m trying!!!

I understand how you feel about the Airelle serum. You almost wish luxe products were always disappointing because then you wouldn’t lament your inability to buy them, don’t you?

    1. Yes, it is so difficult to get hooked on expensive products! Before this one from Airelle, I was in love with an essence from MDSpa (I think that was the brand) that I got in my Ipsy Plus Box that was also more than $100, ugh. But now I am falling back to my delightful Tony Moly Green Tea Extract essence that I also got in an Ipsy Plus Box but this one costs about $15 or less – fits my wallet better 😉

  4. Check out Walmart’s price on the RapidBrow. I bought it there for under $25 and free shipping. I have a box filled with empties and no time to review them. I really planned on doing so. I’m impressed that you can go through that much eye cream. It takes me months to even make a dent.

Ooh I have a sample of the Eye Bomb that I haven’t started on yet, I’m excited to try it now! You got lots of empties this month.

  7. rach says:

Your progress is making me jealous. ;P I’m not sure I’ve emptied ANYTHING lately. I keep trying and trying with all these little containers and there’s still stuff in them? And I swear my Kiehl’s cleanser is multiplying on its own in my shower. That tube has been running on empty for MONTHS and yet every time I open it thinking it should be the last … nope. It’s the cleanser that just keeps on cleansing. I certainly can’t say it hasn’t given me some bang for my bucks, that’s for sure. lol

And that itty bitty SK-II RNA eye cream pot I mentioned a while ago still has product in it too! Granted I took an 11 day hiatus from it since I was out of town and didn’t want to travel with a pot (took the Drunk Elephant mini instead- it’s in a pump) but looking at the dent I’d made before leaving and what I’ve managed to use since I got back, I can tell there’s still quite a bit left. More than the 11 days would have used up had I taken it with me. I like it. It’s not holy grail good and I’m not going to rush out and purchase it (especially at that price point!) but if I get another sample I’ll gladly add it to the rota again.

That’s a feat and you finished a lot! I’m testing something ftom Airelle too but it’s just a cleanser so it’s pretty affordable than the serum you have finished.

  9. I’m actually really interested in those wipes for travel! I hate taking my expensive MAC wipes but want something that works well!

I like Mavis toothpaste! And I fin it funny how everyone is on the watermelon bandwagon now!

  15. I’m intrigued by the RapidBrow product! I wouldn’t mind a product that helps regrow brow hair in some lil spare patches I have. I mean, I think my brows are fine, in terms of thickness, but darn those patches!

  16. I’ve only heard awesome things about PCA skin care!

  17. I emptied Caudalie Eye Lifting Balm this past month too!!! I totally agree of great for sensitive eyes!!! I will probably repurchase once I get though my eye balm stash.

    1. Caudalie Eye Lifting Balm is a lovely eye cream. So glad it works for you!
