MEG 21 Clinical Skincare Moisturizing Cleanser and Toner on HSN

Last year, I wrote about MEG 21 Bright & Firm Eye Treatment from Dynamis Skincare, a clinical skincare company whose product line was developed as a result of research on diabetes. The research focused on a process called glycation that takes place in the body, even in skin cells, that occurs with the metabolism of sugar, especially white sugar and processed foods. Glycation results in inflammation, decreased production of collagen, and the production of free radicals that create oxidative stress on cells. These conditions contribute to the aging of skin.

Additional research that the company undertook resulted in the development of Supplamine, a unique, patented combination of natural amino acids and a substitute sugar that does not cause oxidative stress, or free radicals in skin cells. Supplamine has been shown to boost collagen production; soften wrinkles, even skin tone and reduce  hyperpigmentation and age spots. That definitely got my attention!

Recently, I received MEG 21 Moisturizing Cleanser and Moisturizing Toner to try out.

MEG 21 Clean & Clear Moisturizing Cleanser

MEG 21 Moisturizing Cleanser is a “balanced blend of gentle cleansers and botanicals (that) lifts away dirt, unclogs pores and protects your skin cells, leaving your skin nourished. With Trinity Tea Complex and Soapbark to clean and hydrate skin, MEG 21 Moisturizing Cleanser also contains Supplamine to inactivate toxic sugars.”

The key ingredients provide important benefits for healthy skin:

  • Supplamine: Patented ingredient that stops and/or reverses glycation, inflammation and metabolic oxidation caused by toxic sugars in the skin
  • Glycerin: a substance found naturally in skin that attracts and retains moisture to help maintain a healthy skin barrier
  • Soap Bark Extract: a natural lipophilic surfactant (fat attracting cleanser) with deep cleansing, anti-acneic, anti-inflammatory benefits that cleans while maintaining healthy moisture levels in skin
  • Bilberry Leaf Extract: a source of flavonoids and antioxidants

Under the silver cap, the tall slim plastic bottle has a pump to easily dispense the cleanser. The cleanser is a delight to use. It has a light, sweet floral scent that is not overpowering. It smells like a spring garden in the bottle. When I first put the cleansing lotion on my face, I can smell the scent faintly, and then it’s gone. The lotion is the perfect consistency to use with my Foreo Luna, or to use by massaging onto my face using circular motions.  This gentle cleanser feels so good on my skin. It rinses clean, but doesn’t dry out my skin. Yay!

MEG 21 Refine & Refresh Moisturizing Toner

MEG 21 Moisturizing Toner, used after cleansing, was developed to help skin get ready to accept the benefits of skincare products applied after cleansing such as serum and/or moisturizers. For years, I skipped toners because I didn’t really understand their role. Now that I know that using a quality toner helps the skincare products that remain on my skin work harder, I seldom skip that important step.

The Moisturizing Toner contains Supplamine, Sodium Hyaluronate to maintain moisture, Multi Fruit Acids for gentle exfoliation, Trinity Tea Complex to fight free radicals, Arnica to reduce irritation, Calendula to soothe and heal skin, and an Amino Acid-rich antioxidant complex to accelerate skin cell repair.

The toner has the same delightful scent as the cleanser. I spray the toner on a cotton pad and apply it to my skin. It’s heaven! My skin feels so clean, plumped and smooth afterwards.

Although I haven’t been using this dynamic duo long enough to measure long term skincare benefits, from an aesthetic standpoint, I love them. They’re feminine, gentle and soothing. And I’m depending on them to set the stage for the serum and moisturizers that I wear during the day and at night.

Both products contain 6 oz./170 g, and each is priced at $36.

MEG 21 On HSN

I’m excited to announce that on Thursday, March 10 at 7pm EST, Dr. Annette Tobia, founder and CEO of MEG 21 with Supplamine, is going to appear on HSN’s Beauty Report, hosted by Amy Morrison. I’m eager to listen to what Dr. Tobia has to say about the research, glycation and, of course, the MEG 21 products that she and her team have developed. In addition, this is the first time that MEG 21, a top tier clinical skincare brand, will have its best selling skincare products, including the two that I am currently using, for sale on HSN:

  •  MEG 21 Face Treatment
  •  MEG 21 Eye Treatment
  •  MEG 21 Hand Treatment
  •  MEG 21 Moisturizing Cleanser
  •  MEG 21 Moisturizing Toner

Woo hoo! I love shopping the Beauty Report on HSN, fun and easy peasy. I’ve got my sights set on the MEG 21 Hand Treatment because I’m bound and determined to fade the sun damage and age spots on the tops of my hands, and that is supposed to be Supplamine’s strong suit!

So don’t forget to tune in to HSN on Thursday night at 7pm EST to see Dr. Annette Tobia and to pick up these great MEG 21 skincare products  😀

  1. Both sounds absolutely lovely, Allison! The one and only toner that actually made a difference to my skin is L’Oreal Age Perfect Anti-Fatigue toner. It made my skin looks and feels really fresh and keeps it hydrated too. MEG21 toner seems to have the same effect, definitely something that I will check out.

    1. I am trying to find out what time Beauty Report is televised on Thursday because I’d like to hear Dr. Tobia speak to. Since I first tried their products last year, I’ve been seeing more brands talk about glycation. Since she was connected to the original research, I’d like to find out more from the horse’s mouth too! Based on the three products I’ve tried so far, MEG21 is a very good brand

  7. Both products sound really wonderful. The technology associated with the Supplamine sounds really effective in fighting glycation. I definitely think that I would spray the toner into a cotton ball or pad as well.

    1. I know what you mean, Marcia. I’ve been asking skincare companies to loop back with me in a couple of months. But I picked the cleanser and toner because I don’t need weeks to test those out the way I do a serum or moisturizer. I think these might be a bit too floral for you so you probably made the right decision

    1. I felt that same way that you do, Chelsea, for a long time. Then I started using toners for dry skin like one from Paula’s Choice. I also like rose water, but I prefer to get the anti aging benefits that I can get from PC or from this lovely Moisturizing Toner from MEG21. Now I use a toner every night

  20. A good toner is a must for me! My skin often feels a little tight after cleansing, so wiping it with some toner helps keep the moisture in until I can reach for my creams and lotions.

    1. I’ve become a fan of toners too. I also like the fact that they help serums do a better job.

  21. Hmmm… I don’t recall hearing about this brand before – it is new to me. But I am all about a moisturizing anything and it seems like the Toner is a great one judging from your review. I think I’ll give it a gander and check out the line. 🙂

I’ll be tuning in to learn about these products, they sound wonderful.I just purchased Paulas Choice Resist toner and honestly I’m loving it! I’m actually considering buying more from the line, QVC had an interesting 4 piece set that sold out before I could decide lol.

    1. Laura, the HSN broadcast was a couple of weeks ago and I have a link to it but you need Dropbox to open it. I like both MEG-21 products but lately I’ve been using cleansing balm cleansers that remove my makeup. Of the duo that I tried, the toner (that you don’t need since you just bought on my Paula’s Choice) is my favorite – I love the rose scent, the spray, and the added ingredients that make it more than a mere rosewater toner. I love Paula’s Choice skincare as well because she truly has something for every skin type and skin issue!. I have a product from her Resist line, but for my dry skin I use the Skin Recovery products.
