Melt Cosmetics Creme Blush, Pink Sands

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

If you follow NSDB, you know that I love cream makeup. And that means cream blush, too. I think I have tried almost all of them. But somehow I missed trying Melt Cosmetics Cream Blush Blushlight collection.

Turns out, they just launched two new pink shades (because they didn’t have any pinks previously):

  • Pink Sands, natural finish
  • Pinched Cream, pearl finish.

There are also 8 other shades including a lot of deeper shades that come in natural and pearl finishes.

Pink Sands

I bought Pink Sands because I wanted a pink and I’m not a fan of pearl finish blush. If I want a glow, I’ll add some highlighter.

The shade is a true medium pink that works well with my pink cheeks. You can make it a stronger pink or you can sheer it out. Here’s a swatch that represents the shade I prefer, but you can go brighter/more pigmented:

It goes on so smoothly. I’ve been applying it with my finger, but you could apply it with a brush or damp blender. On me, Pink Sands looks like a natural flush (unless I put a lot of it on), and that’s the look I’m going for.

I have found that Pink Sands lasts longer if it’s applied over foundation than over bare skin. Before I bought it, I read the reviews on several of the other shades, and so many reviewers said that it lasts all day for them.

Melt Cream Blushlights

Cream Blushlights can also be used on eyelids and lips, though I never use products that way. It’s cruelty-free, gluten-free and paraben-free.

Melt Cosmetics Blushlight is very highly rated on both the Melt website and on the Sephora website. For so many reviewers, it’s a holy grail blush, and I can see why. I love it!

The substantial mirrored round compact contains 0.14 oz./4.5 g. I think it will last me a long time, but I am lusting after Honey Thief, a gorgeous peachy-pink, too. $24 each. I bought mine on Sephora.com because I knew I could get free delivery.

  1. Hi, Allison – At my age, it’s important to know about all the cream blushes even though I’m always trying to get rid of shine on my skin. I guess other women covet a dewy look, but I’m always trying to mattify. Lol! But I am aware of the importance of keeping moisture in the skin; that’s why I like to start with a cream blush before powdering my face. I have to start making it a habit, though. It’s great to know about this popular blush since it’s at a lower price than the touted Nars Orgasm blush. 1. Do you have combination skin? I no longer use powder because my skin is just too dry. I have NARS Orgasm blush in both liquid and powder, and it is lovely, but I need the hydration. I would not call the natural finish that this cream blush gives dewy; it’s more matte. Just curious, what do you use for facial sunscreen? Everyone I try has that greasy look that eventually goes away, but I would love to find something that doesn’t do that.

  2. What a gorgeous shade of pink! I love a good cream blush, and I will definitely put this on my list! Excellent, and thorough, review, Allison!
