Things that are minis always catch my eye. I just couldn’t look away when I noticed an ad for Melt Cosmetics new mini lipsticks and eyeshadow stack collections on Facebook. Fortunately, the lipsticks (one set of reds and another of warm neutrals) were mattes so I was able to pass on those little cuties, but the shadow stack was too adorable to ignore.
I own Melt’s full size Gun Metal Stack in shades of taupes and grey, and it’s one of my favorite neutral “palettes”. BTW, the Gun Metal Stack is on sale right now at a substantial discount. It consists of 4 full size round pans plus a little round mirror that magnetically snap together. Perfect for travel or for anytime. The shadows are buttery and blend well.
So when I saw Melt’s Neutral Browns Petite Stack, I knew I needed it, even though I don’t really need it. If you’re a fan of neutrals or are looking for a work-friendly set of colors, Melt Neutral Browns Petite Stack may just be the answer.
The stack is made up of 5 round cardboard mini pans in a cute embossed box that shows the shades. Instead of being made of a heavy magnetic plastic like the regular stacks, these are lightweight and fit together without a magnet. They are perfect for travel or for carrying in your purse.
There are 4 mattes and one shimmer shadow. The shades are:
- Mellow: peach beige matte
- Glint: copper penny foil
- Tawny: a little lighter than milk chocolate matte: sepia
- Almond: medium brown matte
- Café: deep espresso matte
Here are the swatches over bare skin. I was impressed about how good they looked without primer.
The shadow leave a tiny bit of dust in the pans, but they go on with no fallout. They are buttery and easy to blend.
Here’s the quick look I put together using Glint on the lid, Tawny in the crease, and Almond in the V.
Copper-colored Glint is perfect with my hair color. Love it!

What a beautiful neutral palette! Thanks for letting us know that the gunmetal stack is on sale– I may have to pick that one up!
