Midweek Fashion Flash

Today I have my first appointment to get the COVID vaccine. Last Thursday when my group was allowed to make appointments was pandemonium online in Massachusetts. All the sites crashed, but I managed to get an appointment for this morning at one of the state’s mass vaccination sites, Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. Gillette Stadium is far from where I live, but I wasn’t able to get an appointment at the vaccination venue that is 10 minutes from my house. I also wasn’t able to get an appointment at the popup clinic held at the Recreation Center in my town 5 minutes from my house. Instead, I get to drive 90 minutes each way to a huge stadium that I have never been to before. But, at least I got an appointment!!! And yesterday, after getting a head’s up text from a friend, I managed to make an appointment for Jeff for next week.  Yay! I hope that if you are interested in getting the vaccine, you won’t have too difficult a time getting an appointment.

I hope your vaccination went smoothly. I get my 2nd dose on Friday. I wish it could be easier for everyone to get vaccinated but there is no system that works when millions of people all want to have their turn at the same time.

    1. Hopefully, things will start to get better. Tomorrow our state is going to make 10K appointments available, so I truly hope more people will be able to schedule their first appointments. Although it was a long trip and back (3 hours), it was an easy drive, and I was very impressed with the efficiency of the huge site. I hope all goes well for you on Friday, Mary, and that you feel well in the aftermath xo

Congratulations and good luck! Like Mary above, I got my second shot last Friday. No side effects other than a sore arm with the second shot. The young man administering the shots was a pharmacy student:). Everything was well organized. Once the vaccine supply increases, it will be easier to get a shot. Here’s for a return to some sense of normalcy.

    1. I hope so, Denise. I am so happy to hear that all went well for you. Although it took me more than 3 hours to get there and back, I was extremely impressed with the efficiency of the vaccination venue. So glad you are finished. One down, one to go for me, yay!

Congratulations! Some day we will have normal lives again.

I get my first shot today only 15 minutes from me.

    1. Hope it was a good experience for you too, Gloria! It took me 3 hours start to finish, but once I got there it was incredibly efficient. One down, one to go for us both xo
