Amore Matte Lip Creme
This fall, Milani came out with what was going to be a limited edition but now – from what I’ve heard – is thankfully a permanent collection, Amore Matte Lip Creme. I managed to get my hands on 5 of the 8 shades.
Just this week, I found one of the LE displays at my local CVS. It was quite picked over, and it had only been there for a couple of days because it wasn’t at the store when I was there a couple of days earlier. I know there’s been a frenzy around them, and I can see why, but fortunately, they should become more available since they’re not going away.
These super-saturated liquid to matte shades are richly pigmented. They go on creamy and dry to a matte but rather velvety finish. I have very dry lips, but these matte lipsticks are neither hydrating nor drying on my lips. What they are is very long-lasting, but they can be easily removed with makeup remover.
The entire collection is really perfect for fall. I received the following five shades:
- 01 Crush: Warm Brick Brown/brown-red
- 03 Beloved: Brown Rose/mauve
- 04 Lust: Cool Rose/berry pink
- 05 Embrace: Deep Reddish-Plum/purple-red
- 06 Desire: Bright Red/true red
Milani lipsticks usually have a scent, and these do too. They have a vanilla-caramel scent that goes away once applied.
The applicator is a double-sided, plush applicator that makes it fairly easy to get a nice contour. I had good luck with some and less with others, and it made a big difference if I applied a universal lipliner first. Milani makes a nice one!
Four of the five shades applied easily and uniformly for me. One shade – the gorgeous purple-red Embrace – was more difficult for me to apply evenly. In some spots, it appeared darker and more purple and in other spots, more red.

I think all the shades are beautiful. I think Desire (red), Lust and Beloved suit me best. Which ones would you like?
The Amore Matte Lip Cremes are priced at $8.99. If you can’t find them or the shade you’re looking for at CVS or Walgreens, the collection is available on the Milani website.

Color Statement Lipstick
Truth be told, one of my favorite lipsticks is Milani’s regular lipstick line, Color Statement Lipstick. I just love ’em!
They are easy to apply, and they go on in one swipe. They are comfortable to wear, just creamy enough, and they contain vitamins A and C. Though not long-wearing, they last long enough between applications unless I’m eating and drinking a lot. They come in lots of shades, about 36.
I received two more shades that were made for me, lol:
- 52 Coral Addict
- 53 Empress
They are part of the permanent collection. They’re priced at $5.99. The Color Statement lipsticks are available on the regular Milani display and should be available at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and on the Milani website.

Beloved and Lust are exactly my kind of shades! These don’t look too drying, and I love that they are long-lasting.

I have to wear lip balm underneath them, but Beloved and Lust aren’t as drying as some of the deeper shades. The colors are just so gorgeous

I like that one, too. Don’t give up on these if you don’t find them. I’m pretty sure they will eventually be added to the permanent display, but now I think they’re only on the small LE display. They are online if you really want one.
Those Lip Cremes look gorgeous, but it’s too bad about Embrace…that issue seems to happen frequently (to me) with dark lip shades though. 🙁

I like the top two you swatched on your lips best, at least for me. I love Milani products because they are so affordable, I tend to hoard lipsticks, I can buy them and not feel too bad. Plus, CVS is almost always running some kind of promotion and I’ll pick them up. The scent is bad enough and I’m sensitive to scents, plus it’s true the smell wears off fast and doesn’t have a taste. I need Coral Addict (was it named after me? lol) and Empress. Lovely colors. I don’t know why Milani didn’t make the Amore line permanent to start with, but I’m glad they’re going to do so. I’ve only managed to get my hands on one, but I do like it.
Coral Addict is definitely a gift to those of us who are. And Empress makes me want to wear a Chinese dress. They are both gorgeous. Yeah, I don’t know why Milani didn’t make the Amore Matte Lip Cremes permanent to start with – maybe they were testing the waters? But I’m glad they are going to be permanent since almost no one seems to be able to find them in stores!
I was pretty happy when they said the Amore line was going to be permanent, because I have NOT been able to find them! I want Beloved and Embrace most.

I like Beloved too. Embrace is a lot like your ColourPop Zipper, and though it’s a beautiful shade, the color sort of breaks apart. It is bizarre that these lippies are so difficult to find!

You were smart to look carefully, Erika, at the ingredients. I know you have to. I didn’t even notice it. Bad blogger! But I agree with you. I am much more into Empress and Coral Addict and the Color Statement lippies than the matte liquids, but that’s me. Liquid mattes are just too drying for my already dry lips.
Love all the shades you picked. I really love all of these lip collection they came out with. I need a few of these beauty shades for the Holidays.

I was sent these shades, and I am curious about the shades I didn’t get and couldn’t find in stores. These babies are hard to come by around here. Glad they’re going to be permanent. I think they are great for fall and for the holidays. But truth be told, mattes are drying on my already dry lips so I’m mostly sticking with the Color Statement lipsticks, and I love Empress and Coral Addict 🙂
I love the look of the two lipsticks. Those are really pretty. With the gloss the middle pinker one is what I’d go for.

The Color Statement lipsticks from Milani are among my favorite lipsticks. Period. And I love the two shades I got. The liquid matte lipsticks are more difficult for me to wear with my dry lips, but the shades are very pretty. I like the pink/berry shade too, though the red jumps out at me.
The texture of the matte creams look so awesome… so plush and opaque as all heck!

The Amore Matte Liquid Lip Cremes have been very difficult to find everywhere from what I’m hearing. I’m glad they’re going to be permanent because hopefully they’ll start showing up on the permanent display soon. The shades are really beautiful!
Milani products usually take a bit longer to come out here, so I’m quite happy that they’ve made the liquid lipsticks permanent. Such great shades!

I wasn’t sure if Milani was available in Canada or not. I’m glad to hear that it is, even if it’s a little later. The Amore Matte Liquid Lip Creme is difficult to find in the US, at this point. Hopefully, it’ll start showing up on the regular Milani display soon

Ashley, these matte liquid lippies are hard to find everywhere! I was never able to find the Milani Dolci Bronze collection from this past summer. I don’t know why Milani and/or their retailers make it so darn hard to find their products! By the time I did find a display, the shades that I hadn’t received were already gone 🙁 Hopefully, they’ll be more available once they become part of the permanent collection. I hope so. The shades are beautiful!
You know, I’ve seen Milani for years and just kept on walking by them, but those shades! And the way you write about them makes me want to run over to CVS and snag a few of my own. Thankfully, they’re not expensive!

The Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes are a little more expensive than their other lipsticks. I think they’re around $7.99 but if you’re a matte, liquid lipstick lover, they’re a must have! Milani is the best kept secret in the drugstore. The brand is department store quality in the drugstore. I adore the Color Statement lipsticks, the Bella Eyes shadow singles are stunning, I love the lip pencils, and the rose-embossed blushes and the baked blushes are fabulous. You must check out Milani, PJ!

Thank you, Ursula. If you’re not a fan of mattes, then you’ll definitely skip these. The regular Milani glosses are gorgeous in shades similar to these. Funny that you don’t like Crush (the red one & my fave) but you like Empress, the red traditional lipstick! Everyone has their own favorites 😉

Did you have any issues getting Embrace to apply evenly, Mercedes? The color sort of breaks on me into a bluish and a reddish tone – you can even see it in my lip swatch. Otherwise, the shade is beautiful but I can’t get it to stay uniform

Beloved certainly does suit you well! It’s my favorite. The lip sticks are pretty too. I really like both of them but Empress is the shade I’d most want. Milani lip products really are pretty awesome for pigmentation and wear. 🙂
I think the Amore Matte Lip Creme shades are gorgeous and I do love Beloved but I can’t really wear matte lipsticks of any kind (except Jordana matte traditional lipsticks) for very long. But I do adore both of the Color Statement lipsticks. The shades are perfect for me. I think the Color Statement lipstick line is one of the best bargains in the drugstore!
The matte lip colors are gorgeous! And I’m not even a fan of matte lippies .. lol.
