milk_shake is a natural/clean beauty, cruelty-free haircare brand that is sold online and in salons. Plus, their products smell divine, with natural food and fruit scents.
After reading a review on Lola’s Secret Beauty Blog on milk_shake insta.lotion liquid mask “for instant glossy, silky hair”, I was more than intrigued. I bought some.
Here’s how milk_shake describes insta.lotion:
milk_shake insta lotion is a rinse-out liquid mask with hyaluronic acid that’s as light as water. In just a few seconds gives manageability, shine, hydration and smoothness. It has a gorgeous fragrance. You’ll never want to be without it. It is easy to apply, quick to rinse out, decreases drying time and has a reduced processing time.
Honestly, insta.lotion is the most unusual product. First, it smells delicious, like peaches. Second, it really is “light as water”. It comes in a squirt bottle that you just squirt on your hair. Third, it is the antithesis of traditional masks or treatment conditioners that tend to be thick and heavy. This clear, watery mask runs through my hair untangling it as it goes. Fourth, I don’t have to wait 5 minutes as it treats my hair. I just let it run through my hair for a minute and untangle it with my fingers. Fifth, it rinses out in a flash because it isn’t thick.
insta.lotion treatment contains milk proteins, hyaluronic acid, lemon and blueberry extracts. In fact, it’s great for color-treated or chemically-treated hair. It is supposed to be 60% more effective in protecting color by closing the hairs’ cuticles and keeping color in rather than washing it out. In addition, it is supposed to leave hair with a glossy shine (I need to pay more attention to see if it does!).
I don’t use milk_shake insta.lotion every time I wash my hair, I usually alternate using it with my long-time favorite traditional treatment/conditioner JOICO K-PAK Color Therapy Insta Lock. I tend to “save” milk_shake insta.lotion for when I am in a hurry.
