A Discovery Set is a terrific way for Molton Brown lovers to determine which scents merit purchasing a full size bottle. Plus, it makes a wonderful gift for those who enjoy fragrant bath and body products. When I purchased the Discovery Set, I bought it as a gift to have on hand, but as usual, I ended up keeping it for myself since I love Molton Brown body wash.
My discovery set contains 4 feminine and 4 masculine scents, though some people may consider all Molton Brown body wash scent to be gender neutral:
- Delicious Rhubarb & Rose
- Vetiver & Grapefruit
- Heavenly Gingerlily
- Fiery Pink Pepper
- Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel
- Re-charge Black Pepper
- Tobacco Absolute
- Russian Leather.
So far, I have tried Vetiver & Grapefruit and Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel. Previously, I have used up a full size bottle of Delicious Rhubarb & Rose.
- Vetiver & Grapefruit is a bright, sunny fragrance that goes well with its yellow color. It has sharp notes of grapefruit and vetiver that will help wake me up in the morning. I think it’s a gender-neutral scent.
- Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel is an aquatic scent that’s perfect for the summer. It’s calming yet refreshing. I would say that the fragrance leans masculine, but it could be used by anyone. I love the aqua color of the gel.
- Delicious Rhubarb & Rose has a rather sharp note of rhubarb that is softened by rose. I would say this scent leans feminine, and I am a fan of the pink color.
I had intended to try out Heavenly Gingerlily since I have heard so many positive comments about it, but I mistakenly grabbed Vetiver & Grapefruit. Unscrewing the cap of Heavenly Gingerlily and sniffing the body wash, I think it smells soft, lovely, floral, and feminine. I look forward to using it soon.
Some of the other scents, i.e. Black Pepper, Tobacco Absolute and Russian Leather will probably find their way to Jeff’s shower, but I will try them first. Right now, Jeff occasionally puts aside his favorite Dr. Bronner’s Almond Liquid Soap for the Molton Brown Bizarre Brandy Bath & Shower Gel that I love.

This Discovery Set contains one of my favorites, Orange & Bergamot, another bright, sunny, morning scent. I just finished up a full size bottle of the Bath & Shower Gel and a travel size version of hand wash. I loved it. It smells a bit like orange tea.
Molton Brown is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, nut-free, paraben-free, and phthalate free. Although now the company is owned by Kao, the Japanese personal care giant, Molton Brown is still made in England.

What a great set, I’ve always enjoyed Molten brown and whats funny is that a lot of their scents by name I wouldn’t even choose, but I always end up liking them!
I agree. I too like a lot of the scents that by name I would think I would never like. Molton Brown rocks!
Because of you I also love Molten Brown. I love Muddled Plum and also like Black pepper (which with that name I wouldn’t have bought) that was a sample. I don’t need the whole set but I think my next purchase will be the Orange and Bergamot.
Oh, no! I admit it, I’m a Molton Brown enabler, lol. I love the Orange & Bergamot. It has a sharpness to it like Delicious Rhubarb & Rose and Vetiver & Grapefruit, but I think that makes it a wonderful morning shower gel. I need to sniff the Black Pepper, I haven’t tried it yet. I was thinking it might be very masculine, but if you are a fan, I need to try it too, Sandy!!
