More Good News from Ulta: 20% off Coupon till February 1, 2014

Seems like only yesterday that Ulta had a Family and Friends promotion. (Yeah, it ended on January 18, lol!) And now they’re offering a new promotion. I just got the postcard in the mail yesterday. I guess January is a slow month for retail beauty purchases.

Ulta 20% off Thank You Promo

But there’s a bit of confusion. The Thank You postcard I received (above) as an Ulta member says that it’s good on almost everything including most prestige brands except for fragrance, Lancome, Clinique, Dermalogica, Perricone MD, and of course, Naked 3. So if you need some ideas for prestige purchases, consider IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Eye Shadow Palette, the new Matte Shadow Palette from Tarte, Too Faced new spring shades from their lovely La Crème lipstick line, Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks or Urban Decay Anti-aging Eye Primer, Benefit They’re Real Mascara. Should I go on??

I also came across the code (below) online that you might want to try if you’re not an Ulta member (why not? it’s free!) or you missed the last promo or discovered there’s something you forgot to buy a week ago. The catch with this one is that this does not seem to include prestige makeup brands. So if you’re looking for some “non-prestige” suggestions, I recommend giving Hada Labo Tokyo skincare a try, the new Bombshell products from CoverGirl, Nourish Organic body or face lotion, EcoTools or Real Techniques makeup brushes, and there’s always nail polish, lol.

Ulta 20% off Coupon January 2014If you can’t get to the store, both coupons are also good on ulta.com.  And don’t forget, these promos end on Saturday, February 1. Enjoy!

  1. Yeah it seems like they’re really looking to boost sales or something. I haven’t received a postcard mailer but they emailed me that “thanks” coupon with the fewer restrictions, and having printed and used THAT, two days later they’ve sent me another. Which is all fine and dandy really, since I probably should have purchased another UD eye primer instead of a second Butter London blush! But the blush was prettier…. haha

I just got back from Ulta, Rach, and I asked the saleswomen about the frequency of the sales. One of them told me that there was confusion over what was included in the Friends&Family promo (some thought it didn’t include prestige) so they decided to do another one right away because either women complained or it wasn’t as successful as they thought it should be. That said, how lucky are you, receiving 2 thank you promos! I haven’t tried the butter London makeup yet. Their colors are gorgeous, of course. That’s on my list! I love the UD AA eye primer. It is the best! I’ve gotta review it one of these days lol

  2. I don’t find the 20% off from Ulta attractive because the offer doesn’t cover high end brands. However, probably great for people who want to try new drugstore items or re-stock stuff they love.

Monica, the Thank You promotion for Ulta members does cover all prestige except for Naked 3, Lancome, clinique, Perricone & Dermalogica. I just bought Tarte and Too Faced with the coupon. It’s the other coupon that I found somewhere online for non-members that doesn’t cover prestige!!

  3. I need to make a trip to Ulta soon to put my coupon to good use! Great post thanks for helping clear some things up.

      You’re welcome, Shalunya!

  4. I don’t remember the wording on the original Friends & Family mailer but I’m glad they decided to give it another go round anyways. The second round of coupons was a nice surprise. I really like the UD AA primer. Is it just me or does it feel even more smooth than the original? And I’m just dipping my toes into the BL makeup range. I’ve long been a fan of their polish, but the blush is the first non-nail product I’ve tried. I guess I like them since I just bought a second one. lol

I agree with you completely on the UD AA primer! Definitely smoother and more hydrating than the original. Either my eyelids really dried out (which is entirely possible) or they changed the formula of the regular UD eye primer. Last time I used it (a couple of years ago) my eye shadow cracked on my lids. The new AA primer is the best! One of these days, I too will dip my toes into the BL line. Gorgeous colors 🙂
