More Milani Lip Shades Reds: Lip Intense Red Extreme & Power Lip Red Control

Today is Valentine’s Day! What better day to talk about red lipsticks?

And OMG, these reds are gorgeous! Although I already reviewed the new Milani Power Lip and Lip Intense lines, I just received two reds, one from each line, that I had to share with you. So if you haven’t read the full reviews, please check ’em out: Power Lip and Lip Intense.

Take a look at these two reds.

First up, Lip Intense Red Extreme, an intense bright red with a slight orange undertone. This is a warm red, but one that will look great on all, and I mean all, skin tones.

Lip Intense is applied with the sponge-tip applicator. I’m wearing it right this minute, and I still can’t get over how light as a feather this liquid lipstick is. It’s incredible.

Lip Intense Red Extreme

After my review of Lip Intense last week, Rach (I think it was you, Rach) asked whether there was a scent or a taste, and I said no. Tonight, when I opened the Red Extreme and applied it, I did smell a vanilla cupcake scent that lasted for about 30 seconds or less and then disappeared completely. But I did want to point that out for anyone who might be super-sensitive to scents. However, I would not let that deter you, it’s gone in a flash. This red shade and the whole line are just amazing.

Next, Power Lip Red Control, an intense bright red with a slight blue undertone.

Although this red is slightly cooler than the Lip Intense Red Extreme, it is a beautiful, rich red that in spite of the hint of blue, you don’t need to have a cool complexion to wear it.

PowerLipredMe

It’s a red with universal appeal. It goes on glossy and looks so sophisticated. Power Lip has no discernible scent or taste. And it’s applied with the all-in-one brush applicator.

How to choose?? I love ’em both! I wore Power Lip to dinner at the Arizona Grand Resort tonight, and I wore Lip Intense after dinner. The shades are very close. In fact, in the swatches below, they photograph exactly the same.

Both of the new Milani lip lines are $6.49. They are now available on the regular Milani display at CVS. They are also available at Walmart, Walgreens and milanicosmetics.com.

Have you tried any of the new Power Lips or Lip Intense shades yet? Let me know what you think! And hope you have a lovely Vday <3

Merci, Nathalie! I do love these lipsticks, both of ’em. In fact, I like I like almost all of the shades I’ve tried. The Macaron Power Lip is now my go-to everyday lipstick. And I’ll be wearing one of these two reds tonight when we go out to celebrate Vday in San Francisco. I hope you’re having a lovely day <3

  2. Both look gorgeous on you! This a relatively new brand for me that I haven’t tried yet. In fact before last year I didn’t know it existed. It’s sold mainely at Walmart which I rarely go to and when I do the displays are always practicaly empty! 🙁

Yes, it’s a drugstore brand in the US, Helene, plus Walmart. I need to learn more about the stores in Canada so I can determine where the different brands are sold there. Here, Milani is big in CVS and Walgreens drugstores and Walmart. And you’re right, at Walmart where the price is the lowest it’s always sold out/picked over.

  3. These are stunning on you! <3

    1. Thank you, Shipra. It’s a shame that Milani has discontinued those lines 😥
