Today, I had an almost normal day. My friend Laura needed to buy gifts for a number of family members that she will be visiting after more than a year next week. She decided to go to the adorable seaside town, Newburyport MA, that is chock full of independently owned shops and restaurants. Lucky for me, she asked me to come along. I had a number of things I wanted to buy in particular shops in Newburyport, so I was delighted to go. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the ocean was very blue. It was the first time in absolutely ages that I browsed in stores (wearing a mask, of course). It was so much fun. It felt almost like “the good old days”. We both got everything we came for and a couple of unexpected extra treats for ourselves. I hope that you have had a fun day like this recently. What a spirit booster!
Just in case things get away from me, I want to wish all the mothers, step-mothers, surrogate mothers, and anyone else who fits into that category a Happy Mother’s Day!
