Mudmasky Aftermask Vitamin Serum: Silly Name, Terrific Serum

Over the years, Ipsy has introduced me to some terrific products that have become part of my regular routine. Last month, I received another new-to-me skincare brand that, when I first saw it in my Ipsy bag, was kind of a turn-off. Its name was Mudmasky. Kind of a dumb name, I thought. Turns out Mudmasky is a facial skincare and haircare brand, made in Amsterdam – one of my favorite cities! – and made with natural, clean, gentle ingredients. The products are pH balanced. They’re cruelty-free and PETA-certified.

Interestingly, Mudmasky products are freshly made. Their face masks are made on the first Tuesday of every month. Their hair masks are made every 3 months. Mudmasky has a FIFO or First In, First Out policy, so that consumers get fresh products.

But I didn’t know all that good stuff when I pulled the tube out of my Ipsy box. I thought, why did Ipsy send me a mud mask for my super dry skin? Fortunately for me, it wasn’t a mud mask at all. It’s a serum.

Mudmasky Aftermask Vitamin Serum was designed to be used on clean skin after using a mask when skin may be sensitive or vulnerable. Oil-free, it was made to be used after a mask instead of using a potentially pore-clogging moisturizer. It is made with sea plants and seaweed that are the source of skin-loving vitamins. It protects skin from environmental stressors with antioxidants, and it makes skin feel super soft and smooth. No fragrances are used in making Aftermask Vitamin Serum.

The key vitamin-rich ingredients are coconut oil, sea kale, brown algae, and red algae.

Mudmasky Aftermask Vitamin Serum can also be used after cleansing, even if you haven’t just used a mask. It is a lightweight white serum that is like a big drink of water for my skin. I own about a million serums, but I just can’t stop using this serum because it’s so darn refreshing, so hydrating and all around wonderful. It comes in a plastic tube containing 1 fl. oz. It’s not inexpensive, priced in US dollars at $55.27. But if you buy two, you save 25% on the purchase, and you get a free gift. There’s free shipping worldwide and free returns.

Aftermask Vitamin Serum Ingredients: Water, Pentylene Glycol, Coco-Caprylate, Lecithin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Propylene Glycol, Crambe Maritima Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Himanthalia Elongata Extract, Crithmum Maritimum Extract, Gigartina Stellata Extract, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, Palmaria Palmata Extract.

In addition to Aftermask Vitamin Serum, Mudmasky makes about a bunch of masks: masks for spring, summer and winter, a morning mask, a sleep repair mask, a detox purifying mask, and a multitasking hair mask that’s also a scalp treatment and shampoo. Check out the Mudmasky website for yourself.
