Murad Essential-C Cleanser

Not long ago, I entered a giveaway on The Fabzilla’s luxurious blog and to my surprise, I won! Thank you, Kathryne! I had never tried Murad skincare so I was thrilled to get a chance to try out sample size products in the Environmental Shield product line. I will review the kit soon.

One of the deluxe samples in the collection really clicked for me, the Essential-C Cleanser.

I usually use Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Cream Cleanser and I love it. But when the weather got hot and sticky in July, the cream cleanser didn’t seem to get my sweaty, dirty skin clean enough. The Murad Essential-C Cleanser, a gel with a some natural exfoliating beads, seemed to get my skin much cleaner. My face felt fresh without being stripped. Great choice for summer! Plus I need all the vitamin C I can get. I am still trying to fade my sun damage and every little bit of vitamin C helps!

Here’s what Murad says about it: “Patented antioxidant-rich cleanser using Vitamins A, C and E neutralize and rehydrate environmentally damaged skin by removing impurities and awakening the senses with a burst of citrus.”

I am just about finished with the deluxe sample of Murad Essential-C Cleanser. So when I saw that Murad was having a 20% off + free shipping friends and family sale a couple of weeks ago, I pounced. The full size plastic tube of cleanser arrived today. Woohoo!

The cleanser has a mild citrusy scent that smells fresh but not overwhelming. I apply the gel over wet/damp skin, and it rinses off easily. It doesn’t really foam or soap up. As I mentioned, my skin feels clean but not stripped. I love it for the warmer time of year: it’s both cleansing and just hydrating enough. I think it’s a great cleanser for just about all skin types. For the colder, drier winter, I’ll probably go back to my cream cleanser but for now, Murad Essential-C Cleanser is perfect for me.

Murad Essential-C Cleanser comes in the travel size that I won that’s priced at $9. I just bought the large tube, 6.75 fl. oz., for the regular price of $36. Pthalate-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free. Made in the U.S.

Murad Skincare can be purchased on the Murad website, at Sephora, Ulta, QVC, Nordstrom, and other retailers.

    1. That’s why I think I liked this so much for summer because my skin was greasier and just dirtier from being outside in the garden, at the beach and from jogging. It says that it’s a hydrating cleanser so we’ll see how long into the autumn I can continue using it before I have to go back to the cream cleanser!

    1. Yes, all skin is aging but some is aging faster than others lol. The Essential-C Cleanser is part of the Environmental Shield line which definitely would be great for anyone wishing to protect against or undo sun’s damage. I’ve got the sample of Invisiblur with SPF too and I really like it. I really like the fact that it gives me sun protection when I’m wearing a moisturizer and foundation that don’t have SPF.
