My 5 Faves Right Now

It’s easy to go through periods with staple products and then all of a sudden discover something new that you just love. I know that there are some brands/products that I stick with for ages, and other brands/products that come along and make me switch.

Here are 5 brands/products that I’m loving right now:

  • Korres Velvet Skin Drink: I have about a million facial oils, but without a doubt Korres Velvet Skin Drink is my favorite. It’s the lightest weight oil I have ever tried. It’s hydrating without being greasy. I use it every single night. It also gives me the perfect canvas for my Vega Red Light Therapy device. And if I skip a night with my Vega, the Korres Velvet Skin Drink sinks in within minutes. It has a very light, natural, fruity fragrance from grapes because it contains grape extract, grape seed oil and resveratrol. Love this stuff!
  • Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize, shade Oyster Pearl: I love cream eye shadows, and so far, I haven’t found any better than CT Eyes to Mesmerize. Actually, for me, I haven’t found any other cream shadow that’s even close. I had 4 shades, 3 of which were perfect (the 4th I bought without trying it and it was a little too orange for me), and I added Oyster Pearl. I’m into neutrals these days, and I find myself reaching for luminous Oyster Pearl, a shade CT describes as “Oyster-Gold”. To me, it’s a shade of milk chocolate-muted gold. It’s lovely. I especially love that CT Eyes to Mesmerize are creamy, comfortable, stay on without cracking or fading, and they truly are luminous rather than shimmery or glittery. Oyster Pearl is such a versatile shade. Nevertheless, I keep hoping that Charlotte Tilbury will branch out from their variety of golds and pinks and try something different, even silver would be great.
  • Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liner: Satin Kajal Liner is a pleasure to apply. It truly glides across my lids or my waterlines. It stays on till it’s removed. I own 5 shades, but the three shown in the photo are my faves: Sea Grey, Ash and Copper. Ash is the perfect black to tightlining. I noticed they have more new shades now, and that the price has gone up to $30, ugh. But they are still my favorite eyeliners.
  • Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions: When it comes to mascara, I know how fickle I am. I have so many favorites that I switch among. For years I gravitated toward lengthening mascaras, but Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions is a hybrid volumizing, lengthening, tubing mascara. It makes my lashes stand out more than the other brands I love. I am also a fan of the wand: medium size with plastic teeth. The only thing I don’t love about Thrive is when I remove it. Rather than dissolving with micellar water, it comes off in tubes. That’s my only problem with all tubing mascaras I’ve tried, but they do such a great job making lashes stand out.
  • V. Kosmetik Lash Curler: Over the years, I’ve tried a million lash curlers. Frankly, most of them are the same. Lately, I had been finding that the curler I had been using started pinching my skin. Weird. Then I received V. Kosmetik Lash Curler in one of my Ipsy bags. It was gold, and I thought the color was a little garish. But I tried it, and I was blown away. It’s so easy and safe to use because it opens so wide. Because it opens so wide, I thought that the width of the curler was wider than most others, but I think it’s just so much easier to use because of the opening. It’s pricey, but for me, worth it!

I have quite a few more current “favorites” I could add, but when I thought about it, these 5 products are making the most difference for me.

I love CT cream shadows. I don’t have this shade yet. I did say yet. I also love Thrive mascara. Removal is a pain but it’s worth it.

    1. Yes! I find Oyster Pearl to be the most versatile of the CT shadows that I’ve tried so far. I wish they would expand to silvers, though. I have so many golds and pinks from CT.

  2. Great picks! I still need to try that Charlotte Tillbury cream eye shadow. I love creme metallics. creme in general but the metallics always have a little bit of whoa factor for me.

    1. CT’s Eyes to Mesmerize cream shadows are amazing because they’re not glittery, they’re not shimmery, they are luminous, just gorgeous!
