Bath and body products are among my very favorite products. And I go through more of them, I think, than any other category. In 2019, I discovered some new favorites. I am a fragrance fanatic when it comes to bath and body products, so all my picks are fragranced.
- Molton Brown Muddled Plum everything: Last January, I discovered Molton Brown Muddled Plum Shower Gel in a holiday bauble set on sale after the holiday (reviewed here). Muddled Plum was the 2018 limited edition gender-neutral scent of the holiday season. I didn’t really care for the other two scents in the bauble set, but Muddled Plum must have been made for me. Here’s a description of the scent and it’s notes: “oak-aged rum, lingering saffron and plum in this moisturising body lotion. Top notes of orange, saffron and elemi. A heart of plum, davana and oak-aged rum. A base of sandalwood, benzoin and musk. ” I purchased a full size Muddled Plum Shower Gel (reviewed here), the Body Lotion and the eau de toilette spray (reviewed here). Because I was afraid they would disappear forever (MB ended up bringing the scent back again this year!), I bought backups of all three products. - Humboldt Soap Company Body Mousse: I have a special place in my heart for indie brand Humboldt Soap Company’s Body Mousse that launched in 2019 because the owner consulted with me on the development of the product. HSC’s Body Mousse (reviewed here) is whipped and, though light to the touch, it is rich and nourishing. Yet it isn’t the least bit greasy. It comes in a variety of scents that change from time to time. Fortunately, my two favorites Blackberry Coconut and Banana Mango are still on offer. In addition to selling only cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny Certified, HSC is very concerned about the environment. In fact, they developed compostable refill pouches for the Body Mousse!
- Rituals Ritual of Dao body products: I got to try a gift set of Rituals Ritual of Dao stress-reduction white lotus scented bath and body products prior to the holidays (reviewed here). I can’t say for sure whether the scent reduced my stress, but I can say that I love the light, calming fragrance of these products. I have since purchased a full size of the Shower Foam.
- Sol de Janeiro International Jet Set Travel Set or Bum Bum Jet Set: I had been hearing so much about Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream and its fragrance that I decided to try it when I saw the Travel Set (reviewed here) that was available during Sephora’s spring VIB sale. The set includes travel size versions of the shower cream, the Bum Bum Cream and fragrance spray. Although the Bum Bum Cream isn’t hydrating enough for my dry skin even in the summer, I love the scent of all three products. In fact, when I used up the first Travel Set, I bought another one. For me, the scent is summer in a bottle.
- Nature Island Botanicals Caribbean Romance Body Scrub: I often don’t like body scrubs because they make my bath tub too slippery and I’m too lazy to clean it after every single use. But when I sniffed Daphne’s new Caribbean Romance body scrub last summer, I couldn’t resist it. It has a scent very similar to her Caribbean Escape body butter and body lotion that I adore. Fortunately, the Body Scrub doesn’t make my tub slippery and I can enjoy using this. It helps hydrate and smooth my dry skin, and it smells like heaven.

So excited that you mentioned Rituals and Molton Brown! You know I’m a huge fan of both of these brands, they have some of the best body washes on the market. Muddled Plum is my favorite as well 🙂 I’m still using the perfume!
