My Favorite Beauty Tools of 2022

I don’t usually rave about beauty tools, but this past year, a few tools that came my way made a huuuuuge impression on me!

FHI HEAT Unbrush

A brush is a brush, right? Well, to me, the Unbrush (longer review here) is a game changer. I wake up with tangled hair almost every morning. But I don’t want to lose more hair by combing or brushing it than I already lose. Unbrush with its wide soft bristles makes coming out snarls pretty much a breeze. Plus it’s great to comb out my hair after washing it.

Spongellé Body Buffers

I have a body brush and several poufs that I just don’t use often enough. For some reason, they seem like too much trouble even though they provide exfoliating skincare benefits. Enter Spongellé Body Buffers (one of my full reviews here). Since it hangs on a black satin ribbon right in front of me when I’m in the shower, and it’s already loaded with fragrant shower gel, I have no reason not to use it! In fact, a Spongellé is a delight to use. I’ve had heart-shaped, flower-shaped, and just plain round ones. I’ve tried several different scents, and they’re all terrific. Plus my skin feels smooth and never dry after using it. If you like scented shower gels and haven’t tried Spongellé Body Buffers yet, you really should!

Artis Fini Multipurpose Makeup Brush

I love Artis makeup brushes especially for applying foundation and blush, but I only own one and a knockoff. But when I received the Artis Fini Multipurpose Brush to try out for review (here), it looked huge compared to the small brushes I usually use. I wasn’t sure what to make of it. Then I tried it, and I was immediately smitten!

The handle on top makes the universal brush so easy to maneuver around the face’s different angles and planes.

Using the Artis Fini makes applying foundation a breeze because it covers a lot of territory. And the unique tapered top makes it a usable as a concealer brush because it fits so nicely along the undereye area. It’s also perfect for applying blush and highlighter. You can also use it to apply skincare products to the face or body.

And surprisingly, the Artis Fini doesn’t cost a fortune: it’s $29.50 and well worth the price! (If you sign up for emails on the Artis website, you can save 30%.)

Cooseon Mini-Makeup Refrigerator

When all the beauty bloggers first started talking about and reviewing mini makeup fridges, I thought to myself, it’s a gimmick. I don’t need one. I don’t have room for one. Well, I was wrong.

The Cooseon Mini-Makeup Refrigerator (full review here) is small (it comes in different sizes), quiet, doesn’t use much power, and holds just enough of my skincare products. It’s lightweight and easy to move around. Plus, it has a large illuminated mirror on the front that makes it perfect for applying makeup.

Why do I need it? Recently, I discovered that so many of the skincare products that I use don’t have preservatives. Because I try out so many skincare products, I don’t use them up all at once. Refrigerating them extends their shelf life. To quote Martha Stewart, “it’s a good thing.”

And they’re not as expensive as I thought they were. Most of the Cooseon Makeup Refrigerators are less than $100, some quite a bit less. If you didn’t get one for Christmas, Valentine’s Day is not that far away!

SpaceTouch Vega

I almost feel guilty adding this beauty tool, but it is my very favorite of products that I got this past year. Unfortunately, it costs a small fortune so it’s definitely not for everyone. I certainly wouldn’t own one if I hadn’t received it from the company to try out for review.

The SpaceTouch Vega is a facial skincare device that creates red and amber light as well as heat that have been shown to provide long-term as well as short term results. Used for about 10 minutes each day for at least a month, the Vega can help fade dark spots, firm skin and make fine line appear less noticeable.

I am addicted to this device. Even though I’ve been using it for about 5 months and I no longer have to use it every day, I still do. In fact, you’re not supposed to use it for more than 12 minutes a day, and I have to force myself to shut it off, lol.

In addition to the fact that it has lightened my dark spots a few shades and helped firm the skin along my jawline, it is so relaxing to use. As a result, I use it every night before bed. I first cleanse my skin, apply toner or essence, and then an oil serum. The Vega (full review here) helps my skincare products provide better results too.

I wish more people were able to try the SpaceTouch products. They were developed by plastic surgeons and dermatologists, and they were intended to be used at home instead of paying for costly office procedures. Though I don’t know if they are equivalent to a procedure, I do know that I absolutely adore mine and hope it lasts forever! (It comes with a lifetime warranty.)

So these are my favorites. Do you have any favorite beauty tools from 2022? Do tell!

  2. What excellent tools. You make me crave things I already own! I love Artis brushes and that one is so much less than my others. Your mini refrigerator is much more interesting than mine. And what a wonderful item from SpaceTouch Vega. That would be a dream to have.

I so badly want that Space Touch Vega!

    1. Yes, you do! It’s the bomb. The price, though, makes it impossible for most people 😥
