About a month or so ago, I wrote a post about my favorite mascaras.
I still really like them, but I used the Sephora sale as an opportunity to try out the new-ish mascara from Benefit, Bad Gal Bang! I was already a big fan of They’re Real and Roller Lash, so I thought there was a good chance that I’d like this one too.
I bought the Bang! travel size mascara that’s priced at $12. To be honest, whenever I can buy a travel size rather than a full size mascara, that’s what I go for. I’ve found that a full size dries out or gets thick and clumpy before I’ve used it up. I never use up a full size mascara in the 3 month time period after which experts say that mascara should be thrown out. I’m glad that Benefit makes all of their mascaras in a travel size, as does Urban Decay, and I think Tarte does too.
Benefit Bang Mascara has now ascended to the pinnacle of my favorite mascaras. It does what I had hoped IT SuperHero Mascara was going to do but doesn’t do all that well. Bang makes my lashes super long and curled, and it gives them volume too! The Benefit Bang packaging says that 92% of users said it lengthened their lashes, and 90% said it gave their lashes volume. I agree: it does both admirably!
I find the flexible plastic tapered wand with plastic teeth that range from smaller to larger so amazing and easy to use. I am so happy that it isn’t curved like the Roller Lash wand that doesn’t fit my eye shape. I can angle the Bang wand to get to the little inner corner lashes, and I can use it straight up to get my outer lashes that I like to lengthen as much as possible to create an uplifted look for my downturned eyes.

Importantly, Bang doesn’t clump, smudge or flake. It stays put till I remove it. The box says it’s water-resistant, but I haven’t gone swimming with it yet. Removing it isn’t difficult with micellar water or melting balm.
So, if you haven’t tried Benefit Bang! Mascara yet, I strongly recommend it. If you have tried it, what did you think?
Hmm…this might work for me. I usually have better luck with natural bristle wand but so many have said this mascara is brilliant. Might purchase the smaller size and give it a try.

Thank you, Sandy! We’re at the airport in Boston. We are flying to Philadelphia, then from PHL to Amsterdam. I’m glad you got the Ulta 20% coupon. That really is a good one! I was planning to buy the new IT foundation at Ulta now that there’s a shade that matches me, but I didn’t get the coupon or my birthday $10, so I bought it during the IT friends & family sale. So there wasn’t anything that I needed at Ulta. Now how rare is that! My Ulta and Sephora haul posts tomorrow. LMK what you get, and have fun!
Ugh I wanted to love this mascara, but with my lashes, it clumped so bad and when I tried to remove it, I actually removed lashes because it was so hard for me to get off (even with a cleansing balm and a micellar water) Sadly, this is one benefit mascara that didn’t work for me but I love so many of their other ones!
Yikes, Christine, that’s awful! I hope you returned it, at least. I guess mascara is even more personal than I ever thought!

I got a sample in one of my subscriptions and was going to use it but I couldn’t open it! I’ll try again since I’m anxious to see if it stacks up to my favorite Roller Lash.
