In January and then in March, I wrote about how much I love the limited edition Holiday 2018 fragrance from Molton Brown, Muddled Plum. As I wrote previously, the scent smelled like a spiced holiday punch. I loved it so much that I tracked down a full size bottle of the shower gel, and I’m trying to use it judiciously.
Because the scent of the shower gel didn’t really last after the shower, I tracked down a bottle of the Muddled Plum fragrance.
It smells like the shower gel: divine! But sadly, the eau de toilette spray doesn’t last very long on me. I usually do better with an eau de parfum or a perfume oil.
The bottle is the traditional Molton Brown sloped shoulders shape. And though it’s clear, the bottom of the glass is tinted a deep purple. Nice.
Not to be foiled by a fragrance, I decided to find a bottle of the body lotion. I tracked it down on Amazon, and it arrived yesterday.
I took a shower with the Molton Brown Muddled Plum Shower Gel, put on the body lotion, and finished off with the eau de toilette. It smelled great! I smelled great! Very spiced plummy 🙂
When I got to Jeff’s tonight, he immediately said I smelled great. And his sense of smell is terrible! So at least it made it for a couple of hours at least. I can still smell it on me now 5 hours later. Layering really does the trick. I wish I had matched body lotion and shower gel for all my fragrances
But luckily, I have all the Muddled Plum (although there is a glitter body tint that I passed on). I really adore this scent! I will be very sad when they’re used up. I have my doubts whether Molton Brown will bring it back next holiday season.
Have you ever tried a plum scent? Looking for recommendations for the future once this is all gone!
BTW, we’re heading to Asheville NC today for Jeff’s younger daughter’s graduation. She’s getting a Master’s in Social Work, and she already has a great job with the Department of Social Services. Yay!
I decided that it will be difficult with everything that’s going on with the family to get a blogpost up every day, so I plan to take a few days off. I’ll be back next week.

Maybe you should just keep sourcing this stuff for a bit so you’ve got some backups in the cupboard…as I think you’re hopelessly addicted! LOL! Many congrats to the grad 🙂 and I hope you have a delightful and plummy-scented trip!
Thank you, Rachel! I just got back from Asheville, and the trip was a success and lots of fun. Hit a few galleries and artist studios while we were there, too. I think I exhausted all of the sources for the Molton Brown Muddled Plum eau de toilette and shower gel, unfortunately. I might be able to get another bottle of the lotion on Amazon, but though I adore the scent, it needs all three products to get it to last. I will start emailing Molton Brown and begging them to bring it back next holiday season. I hope it sold well enough to justify my request.
You might need to stock up if you think they might not bring it back – I hate when I’ve found something delicious only to discover when I go to get more that it’s discontinued!

Sadly, Sue, the Molton Brown Muddled Plum line was a limited edition collection for the holidays. I’ve done a lot of searching online, but I think the shower gel & eau de toilette anyway are gone. I’m going to start lobbying MB to see if they’ll release Muddled Plum again next holiday season, but I’m not holding my breath.
Ah, that’s a pity – It’s worth a try I guess 🙂
