MG is a perfect neutral. Though it’s a light shade, it’s not a pastel. Olive & June calls it “a desert-inspired terracotta”, and I must agree. It works so well with my light skin tone that it will surely become one of my O&J go-to shades.
I added MG to my order at the last minute to help me make the minimum for free shipping. It was an accidentally-inspired choice. Sometimes I find that O&J’s shades look different in person than they did on my digital screens, all three of them. Not sure why, but that’s how it is. So I am happy to be so delighted by this shade that looks even better in person.
O&J often names their shades after friends and colleagues. MG is named for Maddy Guttierez, Manhattan lifestyle blogger. I don’t really know much about her, so I’m not sure why this shade was inspired by her, but that’s fine. Her website and IG page that feature content on beauty, plus size fashion, motherhood, and travel look intriguing. Do you know or follow her?
So if you looking for a new neutral, consider Olive and June’s MG. Unfortunately, like every other corporation out there lately, O&J has just increased their prices by about a dollar per bottle. Boo. But even at $9, I think O&J polish is worth it.
