MyChelle Perfect C Eye Cream: Natural, Lightweight and Hydrating

I received a few skincare products from one of my favorite natural brands, MyChelle (I adore their sunscreens), and the one I grabbed first was MyChelle Perfect C Eye Cream. MyChelle has a Perfect C skincare line that reminds me a lot of Murad’s and Ole Henricksen’s vitamin C lines but more affordable.

MyChelle Perfect C Eye Cream comes in a cute flat plastic tube that tucks easily into a pocket in case you carry your eye cream with you, and it takes up next to no room in a makeup bag.

You’re supposed to shake the tube to mix the ingredients before use, and that’s one thing that I often forget. I’m trying to train myself to do it!

The cream is a light beige in color.

The tube says that it may darken over time. So once you open the tube, don’t save it – use it up! It contains L-ascorbic acid, one of the less stable forms of vitamin C, so don’t let it sit around. But the reason that MyChelle chose L-ascorbic acid, the form found naturally in skin, is that it is the only active form of vitamin C, and one of the best ingredients for creating positive change in skin. MyChelle likes L-ascorbic acid because it:

  • penetrates skin
  • is usable in its current form (some ascorbic acids need to “convert” to L-ascorbic acid to be more effective)
  • boosts skin’s natural antioxidant properties, protecting against pollution and environmental damage
  • enhances skin’s natural renewal processes
  • helps even skin tone,  fade dark spots and scars from acne.

In addition to L-ascorbic acid, Perfect C Eye Cream contains plant stem cells and sodium hyaluronate, the smaller molecular form of hyaluronic acid that better penetrates skin. The new advanced formula version of MyChelle’s fan favorite eye cream delivers humectant-rich nutrients and moisture to deeply nourish, brighten, and help reduce the appearance of visible fine lines. Good stuff!

Perfect C Eye Cream is lightweight, and MyChelle recommends patting it gently onto the contours of the eye. Yay, not just under the eyes. I find the eye cream soothing and hydrating. There are some eye creams that irritate my sensitive eyes, but not MyChelle Perfect C Eye Cream – it spreads and absorbs easily, and just feels so good especially when the skin in my crease and lid feels tight and irritated from blepharitis.

Because of both the lightweight form and the richness of the formula, I think MyChelle Perfect C Eye Cream is a good choice for all skin types and ages except maybe those who prefer a thick or heavy eye cream.

I’ve totally seen this brand at Whole Foods. Now I’ll stop and take a look at it!

  2. I don’t think I have tried an eye cream with Vitamin C in it so this sounds absolutely lovely. Also liking that it has Sodium Hyaluronate, honestly this eye cream sounds like a winner. Maybe keeping it in a dark cold drawer will help prolong its freshness?

    1. You’re probably right about keeping it in a “dark cold drawer”, Shireen. I should keep it in my vanity in my bedroom instead of in the medicine chest in the bathroom, but I think I’m too lazy 🙂

  3. DiEtta says:

Morning……👻🎃 this eye cream has some really good ingredients in it that can give one some good results. I keep all of my skin care products in a dark cool place, it’s very important so products keep their effectiveness. Enjoy your day. 💙 (Go Dodgers ⚾️)

    1. Cool, dark place is right, DiEtta. Where is that in your house? I am often lazy and keep it in the bathroom but at least I keep it in the medicine chest behind a closed door.

  4. That looks awesome!

  5. Sounds like a really nice eye cream!

  12. I haven’t tried this brand yet. And I didn’t know that ascorbic acid can reduce even scarring!

    1. MyChelle is a really wonderful natural, CF and affordable brand that’s well worth getting to know. Vitamin C can help fade scarring and dark spots especially if you start using it early on. After the scarring has been around for a long time, I would think the results wouldn’t be as good.

  13. Mmm eye creams – havent used one yet! I have to admit i’m a bit lazy on using even a hand cream. I try to remember to used it at least one a day and sometimes I forgot.

I know my sister when she lived here used eye creams, i could that that stage since it stated only for people of 25 and up. well it’s 7 years later and still havent tried one.

Persoanlly i think the reason are that my Mom never used any creams in her entire life only medical creams when needed other wise it was just body spray no make up not even on her Wedding day. So i dont have a role model in that department.

    1. If you use moisturizer and you’re still in your 20s or even early 30s, that’s fine. But using a moisturizer with sunscreen or a separate sunscreen during the day, and a moisturizer at night on your face, neck and eye area will serve you well when you get a lot older, Leanie. I can definitely tell among my friends who used moisturizer and sunscreen and who didn’t. The results are unmistakeable especially after menopause.

  14. I am all about vitamin C in my skin care!
