About a week ago, I received a deluxe sample of NeoStrata Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy.

Last summer, I tried NeoStrata’s Exuviance Illumination Set, part of the brightening/even tone line of products. I liked the moisturizer and vitamin C powder and was impressed by the fact that the founding scientists discovered the role that glycolic acid can play in anti-aging skincare to create more youthful skin.

Ingredients, Benefits and Clinical Results

NeoStrata Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy is part of the Skin Active comprehensive anti-aging product line. It was created to attack crow’s feet and puffiness. It has a clinically-proven formula that helps build and plump up the eye area. It also lifts and firms. Because I have both crow’s feet and sagging skin above my eyes, I was very curious about this product.

NeoStrata summarizes the key product benefits as follows:

• “SynerG Formula 6.0 builds and plumps deep layers of the skin for exceptional results
• Peptides stimulate matrix components to produce more collagen
• NeoGlucosamine® helps reinforce collagen’s surrounding support structure
• Caffeine helps deflate under eye puffiness”

The major ingredients are SynerG Formula 6.0, Apple Stem Cell Extract, Peptides, NeoGlucosamine®, Caffeine, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E.

Clinical trials conducted under the auspices of NeoStrata among participants who used Intensive Eye Therapy twice a day for 4 weeks reported impressive results:

  • 97% moisturizes/hydrates
  • 97% easily absorbs
  • 97% not irritating
  • 94% eye area appears lifted
  • 94% improves skin texture/smoothness
  • 88% skin looks brighter, more luminous
  • 88% fine lines are less noticeable
  • 88% wrinkles (crow’s feet) are less noticeable
  • 88% increases skin firmness/elasticity
  • 87% reduces under eye puffiness
  • 81% skin looks younger
  • 77% reduces dark circles

I have only been using the product once a day for a week. The instructions said to use the product once a day during the first week of use, and then increase to twice daily. I haven’t had any issues adjusting to the formula.

What’s It Like To Use the Product?

NeoStrata Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy is a thick, milky gel that comes in a pump dispenser to protect the efficacy of the ingredients. You may know that I love and usually prefer gels, especially gels in pumps.

I get the feeling when I use this gel on the looser skin under my eyebrows/above my eyes that they feel and look tighter, just from the gel itself sort of holding the skin together.

Because of the requirements of Brandbacker, the blogging organization that provides the product for review, I am asked to post my review after a week of use rather than the 4 weeks I usually test skincare. That said, so far I love NeoStrata Intensive Eye Therapy. As I mentioned earlier, I received a deluxe sample, 0.10 g/0.35 oz., and I wish it had been a full size bottle! I definitely intend to continue using this product because it checks off so many boxes for me. And if I continue to see results, I will purchase it. 😀

I have sensitive skin around my eyes from dry eye and blepharitis, and I have NO PROBLEM AT ALL using NeoStrata Intensive Eye Gel. That for me is huge. As is the firmer feeling and look that I get when I use the product.

The full size of NeoStrata Intensive Eye Therapy (0.5 oz.) is priced at $79. It is available at physicians’ offices, on the NeoStrata website, and prestige online beauty retailers such as Dermstore, Lovelyskin.com, and Amazon. I have seen Exuviance products at Ulta stores, but I haven’t been there yet to check about the Skin Actives line. It is also available as part of the NeoStrata Comprehensive Anti-aging Kit.

Have you tried any of the NeoStrata skincare products yet?

  1. Great review! I also love gels and this sounds like a really nice product, too bad you had to post your review so soon, it’d be nice to see how it works after a couple weeks. Either way – it sounds like a really nice product! 🙂

    1. To be honest, since I am an older blogger, I have realistic expectations for what skincare products can actually do. This one had immediate, though temporary, results for smoothing and firming. I will see long-term what happens, but if it makes me look better right away that’s fine with me 😉

  2. I tried Neostrata a few years ago. I can’t remember which product. This sounds good. It has a good amount of silicone, which makes it good for wear under makeup. can also use the caffeine in my eye treatments, too. I’ll look out for this.

    1. I’m glad that you had positive experiences with NeoStrata, Kim. So far, I am impressed with this product. They also enclosed a sample serum that seems quite nice too. At this stage of the game, I’m a big fan of silicone 😉

  3. Eye creams/gels are a go-to when confronted by the “pick a sample” selection, so I feel like I’ll almost never have to pay for one or risk running out, but at the same time I rarely have enough of one thing to see if it actually works….. Please let us know if you’re still loving this one when your bottle is empty!

    1. Oh, you’re right, Rach! It’s so easy not to buy any skincare if you’re a frequent buyer of makeup from retailers that give samples! I have so many samples, but I tend to use them primarily when I travel. So far, I am definitely liking this eye gel. Because of the silicone, it’s very smooth. Great canvas for makeup around the eyes!

  4. As someone with sensitive eyes, its nice to hear this doesn’t cause any irritation though it’s a shame they didn’t allow the full 4 weeks to test skincare since they are definitely products that don’t produce rapid results. Either way, your review was fabulous. I will definitely keep this brand in mind!

    1. I probably could have requested more time to try the product, but I sneaked in an extra week. And you know how you can just tell about certain products? This one seemed to be a keeper right from the start!

  5. This sounds fantastic! I really need to start being pro-active about preventing fine lines now before they get worse. For some reason I can never remember to use eye cream!

    1. For young-uns like you, moisturizer is probably enough. I need the heavyweights, lol

  6. I need to look into this!! I’ve been wanting an eye firming cream/gel. I’m starting to get some serious bags lol if you will… I’m glad this worked for you! 🙂

    1. haha, Vivienne 🙂 This is a really good eye gel, and the founding scientists of the company are skincare heavyweights!

  7. I love gel skincare – especially eye gel. It’s so soothing and cooling, and I like the ‘holding together’ sensation, too! This sounds like a good ‘un, especially if it didn’t irritate your sensitive eyes.

    1. Yes, for me, fumes and ingredients that irritate my eyes or the sensitive skin around my eyes are a deal breaker. This one is great for those of us with sensitivity.

    1. It is good stuff! Smoother and firmer are good for me 🙂

  11. My eyes get irritated easily, so I’m glad to hear this would work well for me. I look forward to hearing your thoughts after the next 3 weeks of use 🙂

    1. Often the fumes and ingredients can wreak havoc with my eyes and skin. So happy this one is super gentle. I look forward to using it over time, but I have realistic expectations about what it can do for me 🙂

  12. Excellent review, as always Allison. It’s a pity that they wanted you to review it after only one week of use. Makeup is one thing, but skincare is altogether different and requires that month to six weeks of use to really determine its efficacy. That said, that you were able to see immediate, albeit temporary, results does bode well for the product. I love eye gels, and based upon your experience– this one does sound good! <3

    1. As an older beauty blogger, I have more realistic expectations about what skincare can do for me. I usually test for a month or more, but often I can tell how it will work for me. Since I know they can’t reverse the hands of time, I look for hydration, brightness, temporary smoothing and lifting, and no irritation. If I find that, I’m happy! However, I am happy that all that vitamin C serum is beginning to fade my sun damage but it has taken over a year and my derma roller with the needles!

  13. I just posted about this, as well. That turn around… It’s tight! 😉 I prefer a minimum of eight weeks with skin care. I like this serum, tho.

    1. I usually test for 4 weeks, but to be honest, at this age, I have realistic expectations about what any skincare can do for me, lol. Hydration, temporary smoothing and lift, and no irritation to my sensitive skin is the best I can hope for 😉

  14. I hate it when turnaround time is short esp for a skincare product. Great to know you’ve seen immediate result.

    1. At this stage, I don’t expect skincare product to totally change my skin. So if I get hydration, temporary lifting and smoothing and no irritation, I’m good

  15. It’s great that this did not cause any irritation. An eye cream recently gave me horrible milia and it took me a while to get rid of it.

    1. I know that it’s possible to request a different post date on Brandbacker, but I doubt I could wait the 4 weeks that I usually test skincare. But I must say it gives me an opportunity to try products and brands that I probably wouldn’t get to try so I live with the quick turnaround.

  22. Thanks for the review! I too have really sensitive skin around my eyes am always looking for new eye products. I’m also intrigued by trying an eye “gel” rather than a creme.
