Neptune Natural Sea Silk Sponges

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

Even though I frequently use my FOREO Mini 3 (reviewed here), I still need something to remove cleanser and masks from my face. For decades, natural sea silk sponges have been my favorites.

Years ago, when Jeff and I were on vacation in Barcelona, I stopped into an old-fashioned corner pharmacy and I bought a bag of sea sponges. Those sponges were so scratchy, I was unable to use them on my face. I still have them as a memory of the trip, but not to use on my skin. Now, I always look for sponges that are labeled “silk sponges”.

Last week, I realized it was time to compost the sponge I had been using for a few months. BTW, to clean the sponge from time to time, soak them in a baking soda and water solution.

I looked on Amazon for a replacement, and I found Neptune Naturals Sea Silk Sponges for Cosmetic Use, Facial Cleansing. I wanted to make sure it was for facial cleansing rather than body cleansing or art. Neptune’s sponges come in a few options:

I chose the Neptune Sea Silk Sponge 2-3 inch two pack for $8.49.

So far, I have used one of the sponges. It is a perfect size and very soft. I’m very happy with my purchase, and I would buy this brand again.

  1. I am a huge fan of natural sea sponges, but I haven’t had one in many years! I should really get one since they are far more eco-friendly than the synthetic ones! Thanks for this review, Allison!

    1. They come in a reclosable net bag. They have to come in something especially if you buy them 12 at a time.
