New Amore Matte Lip Creme Shades for Fall 2016 from Milani

Last fall, I reviewed and swatched several shades from Milani’s new Amore Matte Lip Creme line here. The matte liquid lipstick trend is still going strong so Milani has added 10 more limited edition colors to their lineup this fall.

I received 4 new shades:

  • 28 Darling: pink-beige, almost the color of my lips
  • 31 Glamour: deep bronze
  • 35 Attraction: blue-red
  • 36 Magnetic: Merlot, deep red-plum

I photographed the swatches while they were still wet and then again after they dried.

The colors are absolutely stunning. In fact, I think that’s what Milani does best: great color! They are highly pigmented, and the color stays on. In fact, I use micellar water to remove them, and it takes several strokes to get it off. The Amore Lip Cremes really stay put on your lips unless you’re eating a lot of greasy food. Milani claims that they last up to 16 hours. I haven’t worn them that long, but they do last and last.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme lipsticks are not hydrating but they’re not exceedingly drying either. I think the darker shades are a little more drying than the lighter ones that I’d describe as neutral: neither hydrating nor drying. So if your lips are not desperately dry like mine, you’ll have no trouble wearing these matte lipsticks. As with any matte lipstick, exfoliate first to prevent the formula from clinging to any dry patches.

The slim applicator makes them quite easy to apply. On older lips like mine, I think using a lipliner gives a crisper outline, but for most of you, just line with the applicator and go. Here’s Darling (sorry it’s such a grainy photo) applied without a liner.

Truth be told, I’m usually often too lazy to find a universal lipliner so I just apply it with the applicator and go. But you can see in this nighttime photo, that my line was off a bit. The shade is pretty great, though.

If you’re a fan of matte liquid lipsticks, definitely give some of these Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes a try. I think the shades are unparalleled. Right now, there are 28 shades in total.

Priced around $7.99-8.99, Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes are available at Target, CVS and on the Milani website as well as at other retailers.

  2. These received really great reviews but I have yet to try them. There’s only one store that carries Milani and it has very limited range, not sure if I saw these sold but will check them out.

  3. These are absolutely GORGEOUS! It would be better if they were hydrating, but that is hard to find with mattes!

    1. Pigmentation is their key feature, Marcia. I’m not comfortable wearing the darkest shades either, though the red I can do. There are 28 shades total with lots of pinks and neutrals in the mix so there’s much more choice than I’ve shown with these 4.

  5. I would go with “Darling” it’s just versatile for anytime use. It’s not to bright, if i want to wear something more daring i would settle for “magnetic”

    1. I agree, Leanie, that Darling is most versatile. But there are 10 new LE shades for fall with 28 shades total so there’s lot of variety!

  6. I love Darling and Attraction but what makes me want to really try them is that they have lasting power. I’m all about lasting power these days just as I am about moisture. I’ll be sure to check them out at the drug store.

    1. The shades are soooooo beautiful, Aleya. They definitely last unless you have a fatty or oily meal. In terms of moisture, not so much. They’re not drying, but they’re not hydrating either. Definitely worth checking out!

  7. Darling looks like such a pretty, wearable color.

    1. For me, it’s Attraction and Magnetic. I was so taken with Glamour but I wish it were more bronze/copper and less brown. I haven’t seen them in stores around here either. They are available on the Milani website now though

  15. How gorgeous are these! I’m obsessed with liquid lipsticks, and I’ve heard good things about the Milani ones from everyone. I may pick these up!
