New Comfy Hush Puppies Sandals

Just about every spring since I was in college, I buy myself a new pair of sandals for the warm weather. Up until this past weekend, it’s been too cold for sandals, so I had some extra time to find this year’s model.

My New Summer Sandals

Because I go to stores so seldom these days, I mostly find out about things I want online. Of course, I saw an ad for some cute and comfy-looking sandals in bright colors on Facebook last week. This was the ad:

credit: Hush Puppies

The sandals looked perfect to wear around town to do errands or to go to the beach. The brand was a blast from the past: Hush Puppies. I don’t think I have owned any Hush Puppies since at least high school.

The sandals are Brite Jells Quarter Strap. They come in sunshine yellow, tomato red, light gray, aqua, and black. I bought mine on the Hush Puppies website, and aqua wasn’t an option when I ordered, but now it is. Of course, I bought the red.

I wear a size 6 1/2, and the sandals only come in whole sizes. I sized up and ordered a size 7. Though the 7 is a tiny bit bigger than I need, it will be fine.

They are very lightweight because they are plastic, I think. That’s why they’re called jells like the jelly sandals for kids that were popular in the 00s.

The sandals have a low wedge and padding to cushion the foot, so they are quite comfortable. I don’t know what a quarter strap is, but I wear the strap on the last hole so they fit me without my foot moving around. If you’re not a fan of an ankle strap, Brite Jells also come in a slide version (available on the Hush Puppies website).

The sole of the sandals has the Hush Puppies tagline on the bottom. So cute.

As I mentioned, I bought my Brite Jells on the Hush Puppies website, but they are also sold at DSW.com (and maybe in the DSW stores, too?).

The price is $49.95, but I just received an email that you can get 30% off with the code EXTRASALE30. When I bought mine, there was a 10% discount and there still is, but 30% is much better! I like these fun, everyday sandals. Now all I need is some warm weather so I can wear them! Just in case it heats up, I’m going to paint my toes with Olive & June red polish. 🙂

City Beauty Skin-Perfecting Mineral Veil SPF 39

On yesterday’s post on my favorite sunscreens, I mentioned that City Beauty was having a 50% off sale on their Skin-Perfecting Mineral Veil that was supposed to run through May 29. I was amazed to get an email saying that the product sold out, so that’s it, the sale is over. Nice for CB, not so great for consumers. Just wanted to let you know.

  4. I love the color. Does your foot stick because it’s plastic?

    1. Great question. No, it doesn’t because the pad where my foot is (what do you call that part of the shoe?) is a cushiony fabric.
