Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics has become on of my favorite makeup brands. In addition to being a natural mineral brand, it’s also cruelty-free. I’ve written about them quite a bit this year (eyeshadow palette and powder blush, cream blush). Now, I have two Spring 2016 products to tell you about.
Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipstick
When I hear “matte” paired with “lipstick”, that scares me. My perpetually dryish lips don’t get a long with most matte lipsticks. Truth be told, I don’t buy matte lipsticks any more because they mostly end up sitting in one of my storage chests.
So when I heard about Youngblood’s Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipstick, I was skeptical. I received one of three new Intimatte lipsticks for Spring 2016, Flirt – a fabulous peachy-coral – to try out. It is the perfect shade for me – for summer or for anytime.
The line also includes Fever, a true coral, and Sinful, a cherry red – also beauties.
Youngblood promotes the lipstick as “Super Rich, Ultra-Pigmented, Perfectly Matte”, and I can honestly say they are absolutely right. It feels creamy but very lightweight on my lips. The color is gorgeous and definitely pigmented. And yes, it’s matte but not drying the way some mattes can be. My lips look healthy rather than desiccated when I wear it. No wonder because it contains safflower seed oil and vitamin E for hydration.
Intimatte Lipstick is long-lasting. Tonight, I put it on before dinner, and afterwards, it had faded but you could still see the color.
I’m very impressed with this matte lipstick. It’s gone right into my rotation. I think it will continue to be one of my favorite shades and lipsticks for Summer 2016!
The Youngblood Cosmetics website says that the three Spring Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipsticks are sold out now on the Youngblood website. I hope they’ll be restocked because they’re fabulous! But if not, there are a number of permanent (I think) Intimatte nude and mauve shades that look stunning, too. Some of those other shades are available on skintrends.com and beautifiedyou.com. Each lipstick contains 4 g/0.14 oz., and is priced at $19. Vegan.

First off, I love the name: Lunar Dust. Tonight is the summer solstice and there’s a huge golden full moon in the sky. I can just about see Lunar Dust on its surface.
The shade of Lunar Dust that I received is Twilight, a white pearl, loose mineral powder for a true lunar glow. The light-reflecting pigments are finely milled and go on very nicely with a finger or even more easily with a fan brush or stippling brush either directly on the face or over makeup. Twilight gives me a beautiful glow rather than a glittery look. I love it! The swatch below is showing much more Lunar Dust than I usually use.
Twilight also looks great on legs, shoulders or décolleté. Also, it can also be mixed with lotion for an all-over glow – I haven’t tried that yet, but it sounds like fun especially for an outdoor, evening party.
There are one or two other shades that looks like a coppery shade and a golden shade for a sun-kissed look called Dusk and Sunset. Check the Youngblood website, skintrends.com, beautifiedyou.com, and lovelyskin.com (where it’s on sale for 25% off) for Lunar Dust.
I’m so happy that I have Twilight. The pearl shade suits me. I have this propensity for falling in love with rose gold, champagne or copper shades because they’re so gorgeous, and I always think they’ll look great with my red hair, forgetting that my skin is too light to wear them successfully. Twilight rocks!
Lunar Dust comes in an 8g/0.28 oz. jar (it’s got a lot of Lunar Dust in there!), and it’s priced at $33. Vegan and gluten-free as well as minerals and cruelty-free.
Ingredients: Mica (CI 77019), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Corn Starch Modified, Lauryl Lysine, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Carmine (CI 75470), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163).
That highlighter looks very nice and light, not too shimmery or over the top. Love easy products like that.

Exactly right, Tess!
I never come across highlighter in a loose powder form so this is definitely interesting. I saw this brand in one of my local drugstores recently but I haven’t swatched anything, yet. The price is higher than I like it to be but I might pick up a couple of stuff to try soon and when I do, this highlighter will definitely be in my list to buy.

I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from Youngblood. That’s amazing that it’s sold in a drugstore near you! I wish I could find it in stores near me.
These are both gorgeous! I am thrilled to see that the highlighter isn’t a glitter bomb! It really has the perfect amount of luminosity! Very lovely, indeed! I absolutely LOVE that lipstick shade on you, Allison! It looks like it was made with you in mind!

Thank you so much, Helen! I love Flirt – perfect shade for me. And thank you for using the word “luminosity” – that’s exactly it!
Lunar Dust is stunning! And I never saw a coral lipstick I didn’t like. 🙂
I feel the same way about corals – they are my first choice almost always! And the Twilight shade of Lunar Dust truly is gorgeous – a pearl shimmer, not glitter, yay!
The lipstick is the perfect shade for you. What a great find. That’s the powder that I’d want too. More winners from Youngblood.

Exactly, Marcia! I love them both. Flirt is just the kind of shade that I seek out. So happy to get it. And thank you!
That’s the perfect lipstick shade for you. Nice to know it’s a comfy matte formula! The Lunar powder looks SO pretty!

Thank you, Amber! I tend to gravitate toward shades like this so I was thrilled that I can wear this matte formula…finally! And yes, Twilight highlighter is a keeper!
I’m just getting into matte lippies b/c my lips are the worst. That’s such a pretty color. I understand why it’s sold out.
I hear ya, Tiki. I find it so difficult to find a matte that I can wear, but I can wear this pretty!
Flirt is beautiful. I love everything I’ve tried from Youngblood.

It sure is! And I agree – great stuff from YB!
I love highlighters like that. They work great for mixing in with a liquid bronzer and putting on your shoulders when you’re using a tank or strapless top… just gorgeous. I think that lippy looks fabulous on you.

Lunar Dust is beautiful.

Flirt is such a great shade! I don’t think I’ve ever used a loose highlighter, but that shade looks amazing. I’d be worried of overdoing it though.

With a fan brush or a stippling brush, the highlighter works for me. Plus I just shake a small amount out into the cap. I don’t want to look like a pearl necklace 😉
