New L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler Skincare

One of the good things about having a chubby, square face is that as I get older, my face doesn’t look as drawn as it could if it were another shape. Thank goodness. But that said, I am always trying to keep my skin looking plump to minimize the look of lines as I get older.

Influenster and L’Oreal chose me to receive their new line that features one of my favorite ingredients, Hyaluronic Acid, in exchange for an honest review.

Launched under the Revitalift name, the Volume Filler Skincare regimen was created specifically to address volume loss, a sign of aging that hasn’t been addressed in over-the-counter skincare products. The product line has a high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid and Fibroxyl to maintain moisture, help plump thinning skin, fine lines and wrinkles and reverse volume loss. This OTC filler-alternative includes two treatment products and two moisturizers:

  • Eye Treatment to reduce under eye hollows and sunken shadows
  • Concentrated Serum to replenish skin’s fullness
  • Day Cream to replenish skin’s fullness and smooth lines and wrinkles
  • Night Cream to recover skin’s fullness while sleeping as well as smooth lines and wrinkles.

I’ve been using the four products for about a month. Because my face was on the full side to begin with, I cannot honestly say that it is fuller than it already was. But I will say that from an aesthetic standpoint, I like all four of the skincare products. They are gels, and I prefer gels so that alone puts them in my good graces.

Revitalift Volume Filler Serum

The serum comes in an interesting pump – an airless dose dropper – that looks something like a hypodermic but with a nozzle end.

nozzle tip L'Oreal Volume Filler Concentrated Serum neversaydiebeauty.com @redAllison

You push down on the bottom, and a small amount of clear serum comes out to apply to your face. I like this dropper so much better than a traditional glass dropper!

I need about 3 pumps to get enough to cover my face. It’s a very lightweight liqui-gel with no discernible scent. It dries quickly. I apply to my entire face, but I really concentrate on the vertical folds around my mouth as well as some fine lines that have developed above my upper lip.

L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler Concentrated Serum contains 0.5 fl. oz./15 ml. Priced at $24.99

Ingredients: AQUA / WATER, GLYCERIN, ALCOHOL DENAT., DIMETHICONE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, SILICA, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ALPINIA GALANGA LEAF EXTRACT, CARBOMER, METHYLSILANOL/SILICATE CROSSPOLYMER, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, AMMONIUM POLYACRYLDIMETHYLTAURAMIDE / AMMONIUM POLYACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE, DIPOTASSIUM GLYCYRRHIZATE, DISODIUM EDTA, CAPRYLOYL SALICYLIC ACID, LINALOOL, CITRONELLOL, BENZYL ALCOHOL, BENZYL BENZOATE, BENZYL SALICYLATE, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE

Revitalift Volume Filler Eye Treatment

The eye treatment comes in a small tube with a similar but smaller nozzle tip like the serum.

nozzle tip L'Oreal Volume Filler Eye Treatment neversaydiebeauty.com

It is a white fragrance-free gel. Though I believe you’re supposed to apply this to the hollows under the eyes that I fortunately do not have, I apply it to the under-eye area and around my entire eye including my dry, sensitive eyelids. What I love about this eye treatment is that I can use it all around my eyes with no irritation whatsoever. For me, that’s big. I find it very soothing to my dry skin.

L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler Eye Treatment contains 0.5 fl. oz./15 ml. Priced at $24.99

Revitalift Volume Filler Day Cream Moisturizer

The Day Cream is a white, ever-so-lightly fragranced, gel-cream in a jar. Very thick, hydrating but lightweight, it’s easy to apply. But the thing that surprised me about it is that they call it a Day Cream but it has no SPF. As much as I like this moisturizer, no sunscreen is a problem for me in a day cream. I don’t want to have to use a separate sunscreen. Sorry. Please add some sunscreen!

L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler Day Cream Moisturizer containers 1.7 fl. oz./48 ml. Priced at $24.99

Ingredients: AQUA / WATER, GLYCERIN, DIMETHICONE, ISOHEXADECANE, SILICA, HYDROXYETHYLPIPERAZINE ETHANE SULFONIC ACID, ALCOHOL DENAT., DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, SYNTHETIC WAX, ALPINIA GALANGA LEAF EXTRACT, PEG-10 DIMETHICONE, SECALE CEREALE EXTRACT / RYE SEED EXTRACT, DIMETHICONE/PEG-10/15 CROSSPOLYMER, DIMETHICONE/POLYGLYCERIN-3 CROSSPOLYMER, SODIUM ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ADENOSINE, NYLON-12, DIPOTASSIUM GLYCYRRHIZATE, DISODIUM EDTA, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, ETHYLHEXYL HYDROXYSTEARATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI 77163 / BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE, CI 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE, LINALOOL, CITRONELLOL, BENZYL ALCOHOL, BENZYL BENZOATE, BENZYL SALICYLATE, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE

Revitalift Volume Filler Night Cream

The Night Cream is a white, seemingly fragrance-free, gel cream that comes in a flip-top plastic tube. It’s a heavyish cream that absorbs quickly. It feels like a sleeping mask: thick and protective without being heavy. I love the feeling of this moisturizer.

L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler Night Cream contains 2.0 fl. oz./60 ml. Priced at $24.99

Ingredients: AQUA / WATER GLYCERIN DIMETHICONE ISOHEXADECANE HYDROXYETHYLPIPERAZINE ETHANE SULFONIC ACID ALCOHOL DENAT. DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL SYNTHETIC WAX ALPINIA GALANGA LEAF EXTRACT PEG-10 DIMETHICONE PEG-30 DIPOLYHYDROXYSTEARATE STEARYL ALCOHOL SORBITAN OLEATE DIMETHICONE/PEG-10/15 CROSSPOLYMER DIMETHICONE/POLYGLYCERIN-3 CROSSPOLYMER CETEARETH-6 CAFFEINE SODIUM ACRYLATES COPOLYMER SODIUM CITRATE SODIUM HYALURONATE ADENOSINE NYLON-12 DISODIUM ACETYL GLUCOSAMINE PHOSPHATE DISODIUM EDTA ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL

My Thoughts

As I mentioned above, I love using these products because they’re gels and their consistency is perfect for my dry, sensitive skin. They feel very hydrating going on, and they make my skin feel plumper and smoother. The Hyaluronic Acid and Fibroxyl seems to be doing its job for me.

In terms of adding volume to my face, I can’t tell. My chubby face is still chubby. The naso-labial vertical folds on either side of my mouth look ever-so-slightly less pronounced especially on the right side. My fine lines and wrinkles haven’t changed much as yet. Here are two not so great, unretouched photos of me at the start and after 4 weeks, unfortunately under different lighting conditions. No real change.

I plan to continue to use these products. Since I have other serums with hyaluronic acid in them, I probably will not repurchase the serum. I may very well repurchase the eye treatment because it suits my eyes, and the product I was using most often is out of stock and sometimes gets into my eyes and clouds my contact lenses. L’Oreal Revitalift Eye Treatment stays put, and it is similarly priced to the eye gel I was using and I wouldn’t have to send away for it like I do the other eye gel. For years, I used L’Oreal Revitalift Eye Cream, and I liked it a lot. This one seems even better for my eyes now. The Day Cream is not a contender for repurchase because it lacks sunscreen. I have a lot of Night Cream left, but I like it a lot and would repurchase it.

These products contain dimethicone which is one reason they feel so smooth. If dimethicone is an ingredient that you can’t use, you should skip this line.

L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler with hyaluronic acid is a good addition to L’Oreal’s Revitalift brand. It’s affordable, worth considering, and it’s widely available.

Have you tried any of the L’Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler products yet?

    1. I’ve been using the eye serum like mad, and I like it a lot. Almost time for a new one!

  2. I personally never try any skincare from L’Oreal, have only used their makeup. I do like that syringe dropper packaging, I have something similar from Paula’s Choice and it’s so easy to use. And I am with you on must have SPF in my moisturizer, I absolutely detest wearing a separate moisturizer!

  3. Wow!! This line sound so nice. I really need to use more products with Hyaluronic Acid.

  9. Excellent review! I haven’t tried anything from this line. I should check out the night cream. I’m in need of one.

    1. The night cream is really good. It’s basically a sleeping mask.

  10. Oh my mother used to use L’Oreal Revitalift! I remember her liking some of their products. The packaging on that serum is pretty cool, even if you won’t be repurchasing it. You still get to feel like a mad scientist with a dropper, only without the mess! I’m with you on the SPF. I’m not going to add a separate sunscreen on top of my day cream (getting ready so early is hard enough without the extra step), so I like my morning moisturizers to have it added in!

    1. I love your description of using the dropper!! Yes, the Revitalift line is more for your mom, and the Volume Filler line certainly isn’t for you. But the hyaluronic acid in it is great for everyone. Yeah, I don’t know how they missed putting spf in the day cream!

  11. i’ve always been tempted to try out the Loreal skincare, this line is no different! I’m always after a good eye cream and since we both share dry skin issues, I may just try this.

    1. L’Oreal Skincare provides very good bang for the buck. They spend a ton on R&D. Usually what you’d pay a lot for from Lancome is what you get for much less from L’Oreal. Love that!

  13. Thank you for mentioning the fragrance in each. I agree with you that it doesn’t make sense to call something a day cream if it doesn’t have SPF.

    1. I will continue to use them, and see if they make any different in the vertical folds around my mouth. Fortunately, I don’t have hollows in my cheeks or under my eyes so I won’t know if they help with that. I can say that the added HA really makes a difference in how my dry skin feels.

  20. My mom always enjoyed the Revitalift line until I got her hooked on Algenist!

I really like the gel, the way it feels, and I’ll buy one when I finish it up shortly. Since I don’t have the sunken thing, I can’t say how it does that way.

  31. Laura Sorvillo says:

I just found this while browsing your blog and really enjoyed reading it. I generally use ROC skincare, would you say this line is equal or even better?I’m seriously trying to find something I can afford that will help with wrinkles and you seem to be the most honest reviewer I’ve found.I would love any tips you might have.

    1. Laura, I haven’t used ROC in a very long time but I had good luck with it in the past. I was sent the new Volume Filler from L’Oreal by Influenster to try out. It was developed for women who notice they are losing volume in their face as they get older, meaning hollow cheeks, hollow eye sockets etc. The line is packed with hyaluronic acid which plumps the skin and is a wonderful ingredient in any skincare product. I don’t know your age so you may not need this line if you are under 45. ROC, I think, used to concentrate on preventing fine lines and wrinkles, and some of their skincare products have retinol which is a very good thing (although should be worn with SPF during the day). My favorite products from the new L’Oreal Volume Filler line are 1. the eye gel which I use under my eyes as well as on the skin above my crease to help firm it and 2. the sleeping mask that I use at night a couple of times a week usually on top of a retinol serum to add moisture to my skin. I seldom use products from one skincare line unless I am testing them out. I mix and match depending on the benefits or ingredients I’m looking for. Do you use a vitamin C serum? I find that that’s a great addition to a skincare regime to keep hyperpigmentation away or fade sun damage or acne scars as well as to help prevent/fade fine lines. I don’t know if this answer is helpful to you, but I hope it is!

      1. Laura Sorvillo says:

Thank you so much for answering me. I’m 48 and I switch around with vitamin c serums and hyaluronic acid as well. I have deep lines above my lip and my eyes could use some serious help. It’s just so hard because every product promises results and I’ve been told I need to stick with a skincare line in order to see results.I us the ROC deep wrinkle serum with the above mentioned serums but would LOVE to find something that would really diminish the wrinkles or a makeup product that will help blur them. Thanks for your time, you are the only blogger I have found that is over 30 (lol) and honest. I tried Strivectin, Lancome…sigh…they did no better than ROC and I’m searching for something better. I’ll keep reading what you review and hopefully find a product that can help. Thanks again, glad I found you.
        Laura

        1. Thank you soooooo much! Sounds like you’re on the right path, Laura. It does take months to see any real change. After two years, I can see that my cute freckles have disappeared. But I am stuck with 4 more serious dark spots that I probably need IPL to get rid of. My expectations are pretty realistic these days, meaning I know my wrinkles won’t go away and the droopy skin above my crease won’t get permanently fixed without surgery, but some products work better for me than others in temporarily firming or softening the look of the wrinkles. I’m so frugal that I use up whatever I purchased (unless I have a bad reaction to it, and that is rare), and if I don’t see a change by then, I move on to a different product/brand.
