New Olive Satin Kajal Eyeliner from Victoria Beckham Beauty

I Bought This, Affiliate Links

Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Kajal Eyeliners were one of my best makeup discoveries in 2021. I love how creamy they are, how they glide on, and stay on. I adore the gunmetal shade, Sea Grey (currently sold out) that I bought in December, and the very dark charcoal that actually looks black, Ash, is great for lining my upper waterline.

In January, Beckham Beauty announced a new shade, Olive. I have a thing for greens. I’m not exactly sure how well they go with my blue-gray eyes, but I love them anyway. I have a couple of green liners from Urban Decay, and I had a terrific one, Nillionaire, from Smashbox that I used up.

Just before Valentine’s Day, Victoria Beckham Beauty had a free shipping promotion so I decided it was time to buy another eyeliner. Honestly, I couldn’t decide between the new Olive and Bronze, a copper shade, from the regular collection. Because these liners are $28 each, I could justify getting only one. Because I have a copper liner from another brand that doesn’t show up very well, I decided to go for Olive. You can see the green band along the body of the liner that makes it fairly easy to identify it in my makeup bag.

I received Olive in just a couple of days. Though Beckham Beauty is a UK company, they must have a US warehouse or shipping facility. It arrived beautifully packaged with a big makeup bag just like the last time.

The color of Olive IMHO is not so olive.

I think of olive as having yellow in it. This is more like a forest green mixed with charcoal gray.

Frankly, it’s too dark/harsh for what I had in mind. So rather than wearing it as a crisp line, I prefer it smudged using the smudger on the other end of the liner.

I guess I wasn’t the only one eager to try new Olive because right now it’s sold out on the Victoria Beckham Beauty website. But I’m sure it will be back soon if you think this shade would suit you.

Sadly, I chose wrong for me. I wish I had ordered Bronze. Oh well, next time Beckham Beauty has a sale or free shipping, I’ll try the copper.

Even though I am disappointed with the olive color, these Kajal liners are still the best I’ve tried.

  1. Hi, Allison – Of course you’re disappointed with “Olive.” It doesn’t look like olive at all; it looks like charcoal or black…maybe a greenish black if we’re being really charitable. The conclusion seems to be that Beckham has good quality makeup but it seems we’ve got to look very closely at the color before spending that large amount of money. Thanks so much for alerting us to the reality of things! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    1. Thanks, Angie. Glad it’s not just my eyes! I wish this brand were sold in stores coz I would have exchanged it or I wouldn’t have bought this shade in the first place.

  2. aww…too bad it didnt turn out the color you wanted. I agree, I would have assumed a more green color than almost black. It’s not a liner, but I do think you might like the Pixi Eye max Cream shadow in Olive. It’s a green olive color that cant decide between being a green gold or a green brown. lol. I also love it. I didn’t think anything olive would suit my blue eyes either but it’s the one color from that collection I reach for all the time! Also, off topic, but I finally tried Olive and June! LOL thought you’d like to know!

  3. Perhaps it should have been called “Blackened Olive!” It’s very pretty, but definitely what you were looking for! It’s very pretty, nonetheless!

  4. Not an olive unless colors are different in the UK. I was very tempted with their sale and then their free shipping offer but I don’t wear pencils that often.

Avon used to do a beautiful soft pencil in a definite Olive green. It did have a little sparkle though. Cost very little

    1. Thank you, Alityke, I’ll see if they still make it!
