Odds and Ends Mini-Reviews

I have a few quick thoughts on products I’ve recently tried that I thought I’d share.

Ilia Makeup Duo: Sephora Birthday Gift

Last week, I picked up my birthday gift from Sephora. I chose a travel size duo from clean beauty brand, Ilia. It contained the Ilia Multitasker cheek and lip stick in a pretty berry shade, At Last, and Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara. I use the Multitasker only as a blush. It’s quick and lasts long enough. I really love it because it’s the perfect size to put in a purse makeup bag for a quick touch up.

In spite of the slightly hourglass-shaped wand that is not usually my favorite (I love the plastic teeth that has a comb on one side), the Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara formula works very well for me.

That was a surprise. First, it’s a lengthening mascara that I tend to prefer. The formula is more on the dry side rather than wet. The tube is very narrow, and it takes off any extra mascara on the wand as you pull it out. It doesn’t flake or cause my lashes to stick together. It coats my lashes very well, and it keeps my lashes curled till I take it off. When I have used it so far, I just applied one coat, and it was perfect for everyday. I like it.

Rose Inc. Brightening Eye Cream Sample

My favorite brightening eye cream was Shiseido IBUKI Brightening Eye Cream, but sadly, the entire IBUKI collection was discontinued. I used it judiciously, and I have a little bit left because I know there’s no replacement.

But I tried the Rose Inc. Eye Revival Brightening Eye Cream sample that I received when I ordered some makeup from the brand, and I discovered that it’s a good replacement for Shiseido IBUKI Brightening Eye Cream. The cream is a pink-mauve shade, and it does a good job covering the dark circles under my eyes. It’s also hydrating, deputing, smoothing, and comfortably medium weight. Its key ingredients are niacinamide, peptides, tarot root and chicory.

Although I tried a sample, the Rose Inc. Eye Revival Brightening Eye Cream comes in a 15 ml/0.5 fl. oz. recyclable pump and is priced at $55. It’s sold on the Rose Inc. website and at Sephora.

Sale at Viseart Paris Pro Luxe Cosmetics

My favorite pressed powder eyeshadow is made by Viseart Paris. Right now, they are having a sale up to 40% off color cosmetics. Even their full size palettes, usually $80, are on sale for $56. They have “petite” versions of their full size palettes that are such a good deal. They have small quads that are perfect for travel or your purse makeup bag for $17.50. Viseart also has blush, contour, eye pencils, liquid lip oil etc. If you haven’t tried Viseart eyeshadow yet, now’s your chance!

I’ve been collecting Viseart palettes and need to put them together and start using them more. The quality is great. I got the Ilia gift too and enjoyed the mascara. The Rose Inc sounds great.
