Bedroom Renovation

Another busy day in my house. In the morning, the wallpaper hanger came to install my new wallpaper, Seaview Designs Crestview Watercolor Ocean Tide, a watercolor inspiration of the ocean. It took him about an hour to install the paper on the 8′ x 12′ accent wall. It looks great with the light green with blue undertones paint color, “Galt Blue” from the Benjamin Moore Williamsburg collection that I chose for the other three walls.

Next, I must choose the carpeting. I brought home two samples from a local floor covering store. They’re sending someone to the house tomorrow to measure the room. I hope I can decide which of the two carpets and which of the available colors to go with. I need to make my decision soon because the Massachusetts Tax-free Weekend is coming up, and the savings will be worthwhile.

Finally, I am going to buy a new bed (and also mattress) for this small guest bedroom. Previously, I put a twin size bed in the room that I took from my parents’ house. I always planned to buy something else, but aside from replacing the mattress, I never did. The box spring and inexpensive bottom frame are at least 60 years old. Ugh. Now, how to get rid of them as well as the mattress? In the meantime, I’ve been looking at full size beds on Amazon. I am hoping that by rearranging the room and getting rid of all of the extra furniture in the room, the larger bed will fit. This is the model I’m considering.

Amazon uses AI to give you an idea of what the bed will look like in the room. Unfortunately, AI doesn’t get rid of the old bed either! Nevertheless, it’s fun to play around with. I thought I was going to be able to show it to you, but I guess I didn’t save the photo.

Olive and June Mani: “Our House” Longwearing Nail Polish

It’s been a couple of weeks since I painted my nails, so I decided to do that this evening. In the summer, my nails grow long and get much stronger. I decided to apply Olive and June “Our House”, a cool-toned green-grey shade from their Longwearing Collection. “Our House” goes very well with the new bedroom wallpaper and paint! It also goes well with many of my summer clothing that tends to be shades of green, blue, aqua, and teal.

I love Olive and June Polishes, as you may already know. They’re so easy to apply, and they last me about a week or more, unless I’m digging in the garden without gardening gloves.
